Chapter 143 - The Reason for Being Worried (2)

In a garden of enormous Sakura trees, Damian walked towards a lake with a gigantic concentration of mana and entered it before taking off the top part of his clothes.

The old wounds on his body were from magical curses; he had fought with truly powerful beings and, at times, was on the verge of losing if it weren't for Frieren, who was always by his side in those battles.

"In the southern village, they say they sell giant chocolate cookies." Frieren murmured as her expression returned to the usual one she had when she was only with Damian.

She had learned a lot over the years and knew how to be more human. She didn't quite fake emotions, but she liked being much more serene than other people. She understood her emotions and enjoyed feeling new things from time to time.

The days after the last war were calmer, technology increased as time passed, and now there were many more improvements.

At this moment, they were entering the age of technology. Damian had ensured that everything advanced much faster, and in less than five hundred years, they had things like cell phones.

"Do you want us to take a trip as well?" Damian didn't open his eyes after submerging himself in the magical water.

Frieren thought about it and said, "We should go, maybe for about ten years."

"Yes, I suppose that wouldn't be too long."

"Should we take Daniel?"

Damian remembered that his youngest son was with Serie. He was not an ordinary child at all, so thanks to his great desire to learn about magic, he stayed with her all the time.

Needless to say, Damian's children were very talented, all of them born to excel both in magic and evolution.

"We'll spend a year with Serie, take our son, and move north," Damian said as he recovered slowly.

Currently, he had defeated all potential enemies he could encounter in the future, exterminated all potentially powerful demons, and now it was time to have his own peaceful journey.

Frieren walked towards a field of flowers and murmured, "Human life is very short, and now Ari will understand the pain of losing loved ones. For her, it will be a little over a hundred years, but for them, it's a whole lifetime."

"She will learn; she will do just as you did."

"That's what I'm afraid of..."

As long-lived beings, they had done everything, cared for the world by eliminating what they believed to be evil, and ensured it never rose again from the depths of darkness. Now that they had reached the end of the road, what better way to remember it all than with a journey?

Perhaps not the last one, but one where they would reactivate memories buried deep in their subconscious.

...

"Are you sure it was here?" Damian looked at a small shop where an old woman was holding a small fan.

"I don't remember..."

"Do you want us to ask?"

"I'm sleepy..."
