Chereads / Frieren: The Dark Mage's Diary / Chapter 134 - Stalemate

Chapter 134 - Stalemate

In just a few minutes of battle, two Paladins had been extraordinarily taken out of combat by the enemy. However, the enemy did not emerge unscathed, as a considerable wound on his chest bled profusely, significantly diminishing his future performance in this fight.

But the others did not stop and continued attacking; they knew that if they stopped for any reason, their comrades' condition could become critical due to their ignorance of more attacks from their current enemy. Additionally, the wounds the other knights had were minor, and they were confident they would recover soon.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Gravel and stones flew everywhere as Falken took this moment to step forward and attack with all his might while preventing the enemy from using his spear in a confined field.

As Falken attacked, each of his strikes was aimed at a vital area of his enemy's body. If any of his blows landed, his enemy would probably lose so much blood that he would die within minutes, even if he was powerful.

Falken swung his sword, trying to decapitate his enemy, but once again it was met by the defense of the red spear. However, midway, he extended his hand and mercilessly grabbed his enemy's throat.

The dark warrior raised his right shoulder and blocked, lifting the hand that had grabbed his throat. His right hand shot out at a speed similar to lightning, aiming to hit Falken's head.

Falken managed to dodge that attack and, in response, delivered a powerful kick that struck his enemy's elbow, causing it to crack. After that, the sound of bones breaking was clearly heard, and both opponents jumped back, establishing a distance.

It turned out that Falken's kick had managed to fracture his enemy's left elbow, causing him to lose a significant part of his combat abilities in this fight. As a result, the enemy's use of the spear would have fewer variations, and obviously, his strength would decrease.

The man in the red armor couldn't help but be surprised that the kick was so effective. He had extensive experience as a fighter, having faced terribly powerful enemies for dozens of years. However, this time was different, as his enemy had achieved something no one else had before—fracturing a limb.

The battle was not yet over; in fact, it had just begun.

"Don't interfere; help the wounded and regroup!"

Falken, who was stabilizing his body, burst into power and rushed towards his enemy at a speed even the Paladins couldn't match.

The dark warrior snorted coldly. This time, he wouldn't use any technique to move. Instead, he lifted his spear with his right hand, and a powerful aura was released from his body, both to protect himself and to attack.

A turbulent wind surrounded the body of the dark warrior, enveloping him in a dark mantle. Numerous currents of battle aura were expelled from his body, concentrating at the tip of his spear, and his attacks immediately targeted his opponent.

The wind attracted a great cloud of dust, drawing a powerful concentration of energies and advantageous natural conditions toward him. In no time, a black serpent materialized, wrapping around the dark warrior's right arm.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Several impacts were heard, along with the sounds of strong explosions.

Finally, a terrifying snort was heard.

The wind seemed to disperse any method of attack, and the tip of the spear suddenly appeared in front of Falken. The dark warrior, who took three steps back, spat blood as pieces of armor fell from his body one after another. When he looked down, a clear punch mark appeared on his chest, and two deafening sounds were heard behind him.

Frieren, who had arrived on the battlefield, had pierced the back of the dark warrior who stood in front of Falken. Those two effective impacts were enough to halt the battle, stopping everything that was happening for a few minutes.

The dark warrior growled coldly, took a deep breath, and suddenly let out a roar. "If you think I'm alone, you're very wrong!"

This time it was Falken's turn to defend himself, doing the same as his enemy had done before to avoid fatal blows. His two legs changed position at extreme speed, retreating from those attacks, but at that moment he felt an attack coming from afar, so he bent his entire body to the ground, narrowly avoiding that attack.

"No, another enemy!"

Boom!

Frieren, who had raised her staff, murmured a powerful fire spell. "Spirit of fire, shine, and destroy everything in the west!"

Oom!

Boom!

The sky turned a crimson hue, and suddenly the vast amount of mana released in this attack made even the clouds turn red. The powerful fire spell spread across the sky, forcing the enemy hiding in the sky to reveal himself to everyone.

"Will you handle it, my lady?" Falken asked as he stood up.

"Yes, don't worry." Frieren nodded as she conjured other powerful spells, each and every one of them targeting this sudden enemy.
