The news soon arrived: Roger had achieved a crushing victory against the demons, who had unexpectedly retreated from the battlefield.
However, it soon became known that the demons were regrouping. According to intelligence, there were nine legions exceeding 200,000 orcs along with demons, with at least 90,000 demons. This entire army was expected to fight against the regrouping northern legions.
All the northern troops totaled over 345,000 humans, the maximum number of soldiers they could assemble in a short time, as many believed it unnecessary to venture beyond the barriers.
What family would be willing to send their loved ones to a war where they would likely die? Fighting is unnecessary, they believe, and as long as they stay within the protected cities, no one would have to die.
Once the war begins, if it turns unfavorable, they will retreat to the main cities.
Many were confident, but the demons were very powerful.
However, the current climate is very unfavorable for starting a war. The only reason they were moving was that one of the three border cities in the far north had fallen into the hands of the demons.
Although Damian had reclaimed this place, the demonic troops had advanced, causing enough damage for the human legions to mobilize.
During the night, Damian had mobilized 50,000 war puppets, soldiers who felt no pain or fatigue and only knew how to relentlessly eliminate demons.
No more soldiers would be mobilized unless necessary. The Night Guard legion had gained enough experience to be the best veterans currently alive in the weakened territory where Damian maintained his power.
While Damian was reviewing some documents, Frieren, who was studying some books they had found in the demon camp, looked up.
"Do you not understand the content?" Damian didn't need to move to know that Frieren had stopped studying.
"The content is in another language."
Damian motioned for Frieren to come closer and, pointing to the documents on the table, asked, "How likely do you think it is to create a spell of this magnitude?"
Frieren looked at the documents and was surprised to see a large, very strange sphere titled "Alchemical Nuclear Bomb."
"A weapon of mass destruction?"
"We won't need to move to exterminate all the demons in the north; a single one of these bombs will be enough to subdue them for a few hundred years." Damian had made some unfounded plans for creating an alchemical nuclear bomb, something based on the principles of magic.
Incredibly, he was just daydreaming. Being alone for so long had generated a certain obsession in him to create new weapons to exterminate demons.
"Forget it; we don't have televisions, let alone make a nuclear bomb." Damian gave up on the idea.
"What are televisions?"
"An advanced magical device I'm working on. Maybe in about three hundred years, there might be real televisions." Damian then remembered that no one had the same knowledge as him regarding future concepts.
