Chereads / Frieren: The Dark Mage's Diary / Chapter 108 - Night is Approaching

Chapter 108 - Night is Approaching

Hours passed quickly, and, to Damian's surprise, Frieren arrived with the alchemy bombs he had ordered for this combat post.

This time, they brought all the remaining alchemy bombs into the territory. Along with the coalition of nobles, troops were stationed in all the fortresses that had been reconditioned for use.

If it were necessary, Damian would have left this place and expanded his domain. However, he still wanted to try to expand the walls here and cover the first half of his future domain.

A large number of troops were stationed in the three castles, forming a complete defense line between them.

After the demon scouts discovered that a large number of soldiers were stationed in the castle, to avoid cutting off their retreat, they mobilized three more brigades to strengthen the demon troops in the south and fight against the army commanded by Damian.

Outside the great river, a large number of carriages crowded the dock, with dozens of ships moored there.

In the cabin, knights emerged one after another, holding greatswords. This unit was well-equipped and had high morale. It was the Naval Regiment that Damian had been training.

Now with more control, they used the ships to try to cut off the demons entering the south and determine if it was worth starting a fight.

The central defense castle in the mountains is located at the northeasternmost point.

"Arrghhhh!!!"

"If you answer the questions, we won't have to cut off all your limbs. Speak up already." Wilson cut off the right hand of a demon who couldn't stop screaming in burning pain.

This demon was one of hundreds captured and used to extract vital information. Damian wanted to know who commanded the demon troops in the south and what type of demon attacked him a day ago when he was about to annihilate the orcs.

"I won't tell you anything, filthy humans."

"Remember, demons have no feelings, much less pain." Frieren, standing beside Damian, watched the demon, expecting it to be killed.

Damian, seated on a large throne, looked at the demon with a calm expression, showing no desperation in his eyes, demonstrating his patience. "Continue cutting off its limbs."

Crack!

The demon, once again cut, gritted its teeth, looked at Damian with a desire to kill him, and said, "Night is approaching in the north. When that happens, all humans outside the magical barriers will be killed."

"Will it take that long for you to break the barriers that Flamme placed?" Damian stood up and waved his hand for the soldiers and Wilson to move away.

"What do you mean?"

Damian snapped his fingers, and the demon was lifted from the ground by an invisible force. Then he said, "You will only serve as training for my great army to be ready. We are learning to fight in the real battle."

None of those present knew what Damian meant, but none needed to know because they weren't curious.

"I won't tell you anything."

"I don't need you to open your mouth. I will know what I wanted in a few moments and then annihilate you." Damian placed his hand on the demon's forehead and, murmuring some words, began to read the demon's memories.

His past and present life, the first time he spoke. All those unpleasant memories were read by Damian, but he stopped when he heard the orders of a demon named Albion.

"Was it him who attacked me?" Damian withdrew his hand and thought deeply.

There weren't many powerful demons who dared to attack him. The demons were plotting something, but for the moment, he wasn't in the enemy's considerations, so yesterday's attack was a mistake.

"Am I overestimating the importance I should assume for the enemy?" Damian walked back to where Frieren was and, waving his hand again, hundreds of cuts shot out from the open space, eliminating all the prisoners in just a few seconds.

Wilson's eyes trembled when he saw this massacre, but he knew he was serving possibly the most powerful human mage currently.

"Return, rest, and be ready for my call in case of an alert." Damian was mentally exhausted and just wanted to rest.

Frieren, left alone with Damian, asked, "Are you going to teach me?"

"Serie would cut your hair if she knew I was leaking all the magic she taught me."

Frieren showed some annoyance but said nothing.
