Damian looked at Priest Kraft, who had just arrived, and asked, "How long will you stay?"
"Until the war ends. How many more people have to die for all this to be over?"
"Are you suggesting we should hide behind barriers like cattle and live the rest of our lives in that place? The freedom that everyone should enjoy would be lost. How do you suppose humans could live the rest of their lives in such a way with such a short-term solution?"
"Do you still understand the sense of time for a human when you are immortal?"
Damian smiled slightly, pointed to a bench in front of the table where the battlefield map lay, and said, "Since you're here, you might as well give me some advice on how my enemies are moving."
"The demons are now more interested in the south." Kraft was more aware of the demons' movements because he traveled most of the time.
Damian nodded. His puppets moved along the border, respecting the demons' territory to avoid provoking a brutal reaction against the north. He didn't want to antagonize them.
As long as the demons didn't cross the border, Damian was content to spend his time creating the Great Wall, which would be guarded by all soldiers, especially the Night Guard.
"I will unify the entire north. Perhaps in a few more years, I will prevail as King of the North. The nobles who live and bow before me will be my bannermen. They will see the world I am about to create," Damian said as he waved his hand, and the map on the table began to unfold.
In the far north, where the Demon King's castle stood, a vast wall extended into the distance. Damian knew it was impossible to eradicate all the demons; they would emerge one way or another from that point. It would be better to give them some territory and keep it controlled.
The coastal cities connecting to the sea would have their own fishing zones, naval fleets, and magical towers of protection to maintain control over what entered this continent.
"In five hundred years, I will prevail as emperor, perhaps sooner. I will dominate all human territory and lead them on the path of evolution," Damian said, watching as the current human territory changed on the map.
The entire world would undergo a transformation, making humans more powerful and eliminating their fear of races like demons.
Kraft remained silent, surprised by Damian's ambitions, and asked, "Isn't this too much control?"
"Things would naturally improve. I'm not planning a utopia. Humans must always be strong, or all this won't be worth it. Right now, we are weak, and the nobles benefit from this," Damian said, waving his hand again, causing the sand map to change once more.
Kraft smiled. Damian was surely destined for extraordinary things, and his presence in the outbreak fighting against the demons was truly the beginning of all the good deeds for which he would be remembered.
"The Mage King, a title for a new era."
