Chapter 99 - Crushing the Enemies

"Keep moving, don't stop, and hold off all these demons."

Damian led the Paladins to break through the enemy lines, and with their commander at the front, the soldiers immediately rushed into the enemy ranks without hesitation.

Damian didn't need to speak much; that was Drogo's role, commanding the troops perfectly with each of his orders being precise. The mages in the rear raised magical shields to prevent arrows from penetrating the infantry, while the puppets served as extermination troops.

The cavalry roared and charged through the orc formation.

The orc captain wasn't willing to retreat. He swung his spear and knocked a Paladin down by hitting his chest, but the same knight pulled the reins of his horse and struck the orc hard with its front hooves.

The kicks of the horses' front legs are the most lethal, as they face not only the impact but also the weight of the horse in its metal armor. Even beasts larger than horses would suffer if struck head-on.

Just as the orc captain was about to stand up, the roaring horse immediately trampled him.

These magical horses have enormous bodies, weighing around 3,500 kilograms. The magical armor would add around 2,500 kilograms, but the horse would feel it as light as a feather thanks to the runes on the armor. All this weight, not including the rider, was more than enough to crush an orc.

Despite their rough skin and thick flesh, orcs would suffer more than severe pain under such weight on their stomachs.

While on the ground, the orc, who was far from weak, immediately became enraged and used his magic. A tremendous force surged from his body, overturning the horse, and then he stabbed the horse's abdomen with a spear.

As the horse was about to die, it seemed to emit a strange aura that the orc had never seen before, and soon, a liquid similar to acid gushed from its wound, starting to melt the orc's body.

"Arrrghhhh!!!"

The orc roared in pain, his skin began peeling off, and just as he was preparing to finish killing the horse, Drogo rushed from a distance and, without waiting to get close, threw his spear, piercing the orc's head.

The distance between the two sides was less than ten paces, with six or seven riders in between.

Six or seven cavalry soldiers swung their weapons, leaving only a small gap before the orc could kill the valuable horse.

The thrown spear went through the small gap with enough force to kill the dying orc.

Damian, who was killing demons trying to escape by flying, watched all this from the sky and admired the strength Drogo had gained from the potion.

As soon as the orc captain died, the command became chaotic, and the two organized orc squadrons were immediately defeated by the Night Guard cavalry.

The remaining orc soldiers panicked and fled the camp, throwing away their helmets and armor.

"Damn languages, we shouldn't have trusted their stupid, disgusting green things."

For the demons, this battle could only be a crushing defeat; all were massacred without exception.

Most of the orcs who fled to the valley were not pursued.

This operation was originally a reconnaissance mission. Unexpectedly, the defense of the orcs, led by the demons, was weak. When the demons appeared and were detected by the battle balloons, Damian decided to switch to a surprise attack. They defeated the enemy in one blow, captured the orc station, and cut off the demons' retreat.

"Why not pursue them?"

Damian looked at the valley and said, "My puppet will take over; it will hunt them down and eliminate them all, so there's no need for us to do it."

At that moment, from the ground, an enormous but very thin figure appeared behind Damian. With some incomprehensible words, it disappeared at a speed no one could follow.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In just a few moments, the distant forest was filled with explosive attacks and the roars of the dying. All the soldiers who were clearing the battlefield and tending to their wounds fell silent.

"Let's go back; we'll communicate with the nearby nobles to send troops as well and protect this place together. I'm tired of hearing their complaints about not being included in the attacks." Damian gave the order to retreat.

Everyone knew that Damian didn't want to be the only one risking his troops, so he would involve other nobles and make them risk their resources as well.
