Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: LAPD Officer

"Knock... knock..."

"Mark, have you gotten up? Maryann wants me to tell you breakfast is ready..."

"Uh, I'll be right down..."

Mark was already awake, sitting on the edge of his bed, lost in thought. For this past period of time, every morning upon waking up, he would spend some time in a daze. The sound of the clear voice outside made him tense. After a moment's hesitation, he said, "Thanks, Hannah..."

There was a moment of silence outside the door, followed by the sound of light footsteps, and faintly, Mark could hear the girl's muttering.

"It's so weird for you to say thanks, it feels really awkward!"

Mark smiled bitterly. Even 14-year-old Hannah could notice his peculiarity, let alone anyone else. It was truly embarrassing for his profession!

Indeed, Mark was a transmigrator. In his previous life, he was Chinese, also named Mark, surnamed Li.

At the age of six, both of his parents died in a severe car accident. Relatives helped him handle his parents' affairs and kindly sent him to an orphanage.

Because of his innate intelligence, he didn't stay in the orphanage for long and was quickly adopted by a couple with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Unfortunately, after taking him out of China, that couple immediately sold him off. Then he was sent to a fully enclosed boarding school, which housed hundreds of orphans from different countries, races, and ethnicities.

The school belonged to a mysterious organization. Under their training, Mark mastered many skills, passed through multiple levels of selection, and finally graduated smoothly.

Based on the assessment exam, Mark was allocated to the logistics department and became a "cleaner" who could only exist in the gray world.

His main responsibilities were to clean up crime scenes, dispose of bodies, or fabricate causes of death to turn homicides into accidents.

During his last mission, he didn't expect the villa to be rigged with a timed bomb, and he was blown to pieces along with the villa.

Reflecting on his death, Mark's face was calm. Having witnessed countless bodies and become desensitized to the darkness of human nature over a decade as a cleaner, he was tired of being controlled and living a life in the shadows. Death, for him, was more like a liberation.

He was even aware that the explosion of the villa was no accident. It was simply because he knew too much.

In front of the mirror, Mark brushed his teeth while staring at his face, which had been uncomfortable for more than ten days.

Compared to his previous gloomy pale face, this one was too handsome.

Black curly hair, deep blue eyes, delicate and three-dimensional facial features, handsome yet not lacking in sunshine, a perfect juvenile delinquent.

Having completely read the original host's memories, Mark naturally knew that the original host was far from a juvenile delinquent.

On the contrary, the original host was a complete thug and scumbag, with a bad temper and prone to anger, often swearing and fond of using his fists to speak.

This was why his family felt like he had changed, as he was cautious and introverted, completely different from the original host's personality. It was too difficult to play the role, so he decided to pretend to be silent.

Fortunately, the original host, who was a police officer in Los Angeles, had just experienced his first shootout as a police officer, using a complete set of American swordsmanship to kill two drug dealers and was now on mandatory administrative leave.

His abnormal behavior was naturally understood by his family as psychological trauma from killing, and his change in personality was considered a sequela of psychological trauma.

Actually, it wouldn't take Mark so long to adapt to the idea of reincarnation. What truly troubled him was this.

Mark sighed softly in front of the mirror, and his mind moved. Immediately, a simple panel appeared in front of him.

[Justice Light - Tough Cop System 2.0]

Host: Mark Li

Speed: 9 (human peak 20)

Justice Points: 500

Attribute Points: 1

Cards Held:

Experience Card: Car Driving (5 years experience), Handgun Usage (5 years experience)

Functional Card: Bullet Dodge Card

Learning Card: Spanish (5 years experience)

After shooting two drug dealers dead, the original host was also hit by a runaway vehicle and knocked unconscious into a coma. Fortunately, with his outstanding physical condition, he only suffered from a minor concussion and regained consciousness in the hospital very soon.

Well, of course, it was Mark who woke up.

When Mark was confused about how to deal with his family members surrounding him, a panel appeared before his eyes, and he conveniently fainted again.

At first, Mark even suspected that he was being experimented on by aliens.

After repeated attempts and research, he found that only he could see this panel, which seemed to lack wisdom and could not answer his questions.

Through this period of exploration and understanding of the original host, Mark finally figured out the function of the panel.

Now the level is 1, which means it can be upgraded.

The four major attributes refer to his physical condition, which can be summarized in eight words: well-developed limbs, simple-minded head.

The skills mastered are more intuitive, indicating what he can do, all at low levels, a complete failure, except for rugby, only mating is at L2. Well, through reading memories, Mark knows where this L2 came from. This was something the original host had honed since high school, day and night.

As the saying goes, grandpa was right. Indeed, hard work can make up for shortcomings!

Other things like justice points, attribute points, cards should be rewards for shooting the drug dealers.

Mark speculated that these rewards should be usable, but he didn't dare to try them lightly.

Through this panel, Mark had a more intuitive understanding of his physical condition.

For example, the four attributes refer to human comprehensive physiological indicators.

Strength: bone strength, muscle strength, blood flow speed, cardiac strength, lung capacity...

Speed: body agility, nervous reaction speed, muscle elasticity, coordination ability...Endurance: heart, liver, spleen, lungs, kidneys strength, bone strength, muscle strength, recovery ability...

Spirit: intelligence, memory, observation, analysis ability, logical reasoning ability...

Referring to the panel data, Mark finally understood why the original host could only play as a substitute after entering the university team.

The original host's physically imposing black teammates, in terms of strength, speed, and endurance, were all far superior to him, with attribute data definitely above 10.

There's no way around it, the physique of black people in the human race has always been the best.

Otherwise, during a certain period, they would not have been used as primary labor.

But his physical quality is only 9, which is probably below 8 for ordinary people.

In terms of spirit attributes, the original host should be slightly stronger than those teammates, but probably not by much.

The core of spirit attributes is intelligence. Mark felt ashamed for the original host. After all, he was half Chinese. Why didn't he inherit the best genes of the Chinese?

The original host Mark Li was a Chinese mixed-race. His father, Todd, well, Chinese name Li Bo, was a Chinese student studying abroad. His mother, Maryann Mark, was a German-American with blond hair and blue eyes, a German descendant. Both of them were alumni of Yale University.

Judging from appearance, except for his uniquely Chinese black hair, Mark inherited more genes from his mother's side.

Mark had a sturdy frame, standing at a towering height of 1.92 meters and weighing 102 kg. His figure was more inclined towards Westerners, but he didn't have the rough pores and pungent body odor of Westerners.

This saved him a lot of money and made him more popular, making his nickname "walking Viagra" even more appropriate.

During his high school years, because of his unusually tall and strong body shape, Mark was selected for the school's rugby team. Because of his excellent rugby talent, he was admitted to UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles).
