Diana's POV
I stared at the boom in front of me, my mind reeling in shock. Three fools, I thought to myself. How did this happen? How are they alive? The words on the page seemed to blur together as I tried to process the information.
I couldn't believe that the triplets, those useless little children, had survived the kidnap that took Valerie's life. It didn't make sense. Why did they get to live while Valerie was gone? Why didn't all just die? The thought sent a pang of anger and frustration through me.
I felt like I was living in a nightmare, where nothing made sense and the rules of reality didn't apply. First, Valerie wanted to take my Rohan from me, and now this? It was too much to bear.
