A FEW WEEKS LATER; AT A HOTEL ROOM
Veronica Wilde picked up a tablet that was in front of her as she sipped her coffee from the sippy cup in her hand.
Adjusting the towel that laid cover her bare chest, she shuddered as she read a message that awaited her on the tab.
"You didn't tell me what today's date was. I informed you to remind me months ago" she angrily told the man lying on the king sized bed, whose chest was left bare and the rest of his legs covered with the blanket.
"Oh my beloved Vero, I thought we already discussed this. I thought you promised me that you wouldn't be marrying him. What do you expect me to do with myself if you leave me and move on?" He quizzed as he gazed into her eyes that was in contact with his, hoping his words would be able to manipulate her to forget his shortcoming.
She blazed up and stood abruptly from the cushion she was sat on and this immediately caused the towel to fall, revealing her body in all of its naked glory. The man's eyes did not leave her body.
"Today is my wedding day to Charles and you're telling me to let it go? This is almost 12pm and I am not even ready, what good are you then as my secretary?"
"Your secretary? Is that how you still see me? We've dated for years now, indulging ourselves in all manner of things yet you still see me as your secretary?" His voice wavered as he asked.
Veronica chuckled as she quietly began to redress by picking up her clothes that were on the floor.
"Don't tell me you thought we were something. Hello. You're just my secretary and nothing more. Don't outstretch your position or I might fire you. Your job is just to keep me warm and suckle on my kitty cat. Don't desire what can never be yours! Ahh audacity!"
She finished and turned to the door to leave, calling her planner to come over and dole her up for the wedding, even though she might already be late for it, but she didn't mind. She was Veronica Wilde and her father had the papers, there was no way Charles nor his aunt Jessica would let the ceremony begin without her being present.
"Girl where are you??!!! Everyone has been waiting, you're the only one absent. Don't tell me you're backing out of the plan now. Don't forget what lies in it in the ending. This isn't your, don't disappoint me" the voice across the phone she was answering desperately pleaded.
Though she scuffed her face in disgust hearing the voice from the incessant call she had been avoiding, she knew she had to provide an answer as to why she wasn't there yet and why she made numerous dignitaries to be sat and awaiting her arrival.
"I'm sorry I'm taking a while aunt. My car had an accident on my way coming and I had to go get it treated. I have already requested my father to send another driver to come take me to the venue since my car developed some faults as well. I will arrive shortly son, aunt" she replied, obviously lying.
Was she to tell him that she had been watching profane materials on the internet nor having a sexually heated intercourse with her secretary on the morning of her wedding to the Nations beloved crush.
"I will have some of my family drivers search out for you."
" You don't need to bother aunt. My family's driver will find me at the roadsides before we know it. Or how many brides would have a blood patch by the side of the hems of their wedding dresses today?" She jokingly asked and was able to strike a chord with Aunt Jessica who was subdued.
She cringed as she ended the call, but she had to keep a straight face, get dressed up, doled up and ofcourse create the false pretense that she had been in an accident by sprinkling some blood on the hem of her dress and her leg.
*------------------------------------------------*
Ahneeka stared into her reflection in the mirror. She had become a shadow of herself, her clavicles were very much out and exposed how lean she had become due to the malnourishment she was served with at Lawrence's home, her slave house.
The make-up artist doled up the last bit of powder to her face and beat it into a fine blend with her facial tone.
She was still beautiful, even with all the chaos that had been wrecked on her the past few weeks by Lawrence and his venom of a son.
The distasteful feel of her anchored slavery bit into her mouth and she could not undo the thoughts that crowded her mind that very moment.
"I'm sorry ma'am but I will soon be done with the make-up. The drivers are already waiting for you ma'am." The lady said and continued with what she had been doing.
Ahneeka knew she knew that wasn't the reason for the sad expressions on her face but like every business owner looking for their daily gigs, she had to pretend as if the young bride was not in a plight so as to be able to collect her wages for her services.
She raised the long sleeve of the wedding dress to show off a huge wound that had been draped by medical tapes, hoping to evoke even an ounce of pity from the lady, the only person with her in the room.
It was the first time she was having just a person with her in a room in public, Lawrence always made sure a group of five or more women followed her wherever she went in public, with the male bodyguards outside waiting on her as well.
All on his attempts to show her her place and gatekeep her from running away.
She noticed the lady from the mirror pretend as if she hadn't seen the wound, so she bent her arm a little bit forward and undid the tie made one at her feet, carefully and as quiet as she could so the lady wouldn't notice.
Immediately, blood began to flow, making the hem of the wedding dress she wore all bloody and stained.
"Can you excuse me for a few minutes, I want to wash and redo the tie on my wound. It seems to have come off" she said pointing at the cut on her leg that was bleeding profusely. Lawrence had given her that wound the night before to show her what would happen to her if she tried running away.
The make-up artist was confused not knowing what to do. The wound was deep and bleeding and had to be clothed or risk it staining most parts of her wedding dress and yet at the same time, she couldn't leave the lady out of her sight. She had been instructed not to let her out of her sight or she would bear the consequences and honestly, she didn't want to cross Lawrence.
She was at a crossroad in her thoughts and Ahneeka seemed to notice very much well the dilemma she was in.
"I'm not running away. You can even follow me to inside of the restroom if you want to" she spoke up, hoping, even though her words were a lie, that they would be able to garner atleast an inch of trust from her.
She watched on the silence as the lady contemplated a decision to take, till she finally spoke up to do so, though not without reminding her that she needed to call Lawrence first and take permission from him.
Ahneeka didn't protest and she dutifully stood, waiting for her to call him and for her to get a permission or a rejection from him on her behalf.
Seconds turned into minutes and the call finally did happen. The lady turned behind her to pass on the verdict of the call but was taken aback by a shocker, Ahneeka Fallon was not in the room anymore!!!!
