Chereads / Nara's Revenge? / Chapter 24 - Ultrasound

Chapter 24 - Ultrasound

For the next couple of days, Nara and Nathan went by their usual routine. By usual routine, I mean they ate breakfast together and went their separate ways.

Nathan was always so preoccupied with work and was constantly busy with meetings and other tasks. Nara didn't care much; she mostly spent her days with Sharon. But in three days, they would move into the family estate, and then, well, things would surely get interesting.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to move in with Nathan's family?" Sharon asked Nara with a frown. She didn't think that was a good idea at all, especially because, well, Nara's freaking nuts.

"No. I'm positive it's a bad idea," Nara replied with a wicked grin. "But I'm sure I can make it work."

Sharon chuckled, shaking her head. "You and your crazy schemes. Just promise me you won't end up regretting it."

"Regret? Nah," Nara replied with a grin. "And besides, I'll have you by my side to keep me sane."

"Don't come crying to me when something goes wrong."

Nara pouted. "You're my freaking anchor. I'll come cry on your shoulders whenever I want to. That's basically your job—to comfort me." Nara replied gingerly, causing Sharon to roll her eyes.

"Just be glad that you're making me an aunt, or else I would absolutely not tolerate your bullshit. And if this baby turns out to be a girl, you're absolutely naming her Sharon," Sharon said as she gently squeezed Nara's hand.

Their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of Dr. Jameson, a charming young man with blonde hair and a gorgeous smile.

Sharon had managed to convince Nara to have her first ultrasound, and they were currently in the hospital.

"Good morning, ladies," Dr. Jameson greeted with a bright smile. "You must be Ms. Hill. Welcome to our clinic. How are you feeling today?"

"Yeah. Thank you, I'm feeling a bit nervous, to be honest. This is my first ultrasound, and I'm excited but also a little anxious," Nara admitted.

"That's completely normal. It's a big moment, and it's natural to have some jitters. But you're in good hands, and I'm here to guide you through the process. Let's get started, shall we?" Dr. Jameson said reassuringly.

"Alright," Nara replied nervously, taking a deep breath.

"First, I'll apply some gel to your abdomen, which helps transmit the sound waves and gives us a clearer picture of your baby. It'll be a bit cold, but it shouldn't be uncomfortable."

"Okay, sounds good."

"Now, let's take a look and see how your little one is doing in there. Ah, there we go! Can you see that on the screen? That's your baby!" Dr. Jameson said, pointing at the screen.

"Oh, wow! That's incredible! Look at it squirming around in there," Nara said with a smile, her heart swelling with warmth and joy.

"Yes, Everything looks healthy and normal so far," Dr. Jameson stated calmly.

As Dr. Jameson examined Nara, Sharon couldn't help but notice how handsome he was.

"Can you tell us the gender?" Sharon asked eagerly.

"It's still too early for an accurate gender reveal, but I think it's a boy. But I could be wrong," Dr. Jameson replied.

"You better be. 'Cause I'm positive that's a girl," Sharon said with a frown.

"Oh, are you now?" Dr. Jameson asked with a soft smile as he looked up at Sharon, who was standing beside Nara's bed.

"Yeah," was all Sharon managed to say, because the moment Dr. Jameson's eyes met hers, she was mesmerized. He had the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen. They looked like a sunset—so beautiful and enthralling.

Dr. Jameson smiled. "Well, we'll find out for sure a few weeks from now," Dr. Jameson said to Sharon, who blushed slightly.

Nara, amused by the obvious attraction between them, cleared her throat loudly. "That sounds nice. Thank you, Doc," Nara said to Dr. Jameson, who nodded and rose to his feet.

"You're very welcome. It's my pleasure to share this special moment with you. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to ask. And remember, we're here to support you every step of the way," Dr. Jameson replied with a smile, then cast one last glance at Sharon before exiting the room.

"That was great. The baby is healthy and—"

"Just shut up and go get his phone number. I know you want to," Nara said to Sharon, a smirk gracing her lips.

"Who, me? Absolutely not," Sharon replied, clearly in denial.

But as soon as Nara blinked, Sharon was already darting out of the room in pursuit of Dr. Jameson.
