"Wow, I can't believe you're pregnant, Nara. What's worse, you were just smoking and drinking wine earlier. That's not good for the baby's development," Sharon expressed her shock and concerns to Nara, who looked at her and yawned.
"First of all, it's not yet a baby; it's still just a fetus," Nara corrected as they walked out of the gallery filled with Rebecca's paintings.
"And it's my body. This baby is just an uninvited guest with very bad timing," Nara added.
"You mean fetus," Sharon countered, using Nara's word against her.
"Exactly," Nara said with a smirk.
"Still, Nara, this changes everything. I think you should tell Nathan," Sharon said as she followed Nara back through the hallway.
"I'm not telling Nathan anything. This has nothing to do with him."
"Nothing to do with him? You're literally carrying his baby!" Sharon stated. "Unless... it's not his," Sharon blurted and immediately regretted it because Nara's eyes turned deadly.
"I can allow you to call me crazy and anything else but a cheater; that's where I draw the line," Nara replied angrily.
"I didn't mean to say that. And I never called you a cheater," Sharon replied apologetically.
"Good. Now enough with all this talk. Come help me pick an outfit for tonight," Nara said with a giggle, her mood changing rapidly.
"An outfit for what?"
"Nathan's grandfather's Will Reading."
"Nathan's grandfather died?"
"Not yet. But probably soon. So he wants to gather the entire family tonight so he can read his Will."
"Oh."
"Come on, I'll show you the outfit I want to wear," Nara said, grabbing Sharon's hand and hurriedly taking her towards her bedroom.
They arrived there as Nara walked into the closet, grabbed a dress, and walked out to show Sharon.
"What do you think?" Nara asked but immediately added, "Wait, hold that thought until I try it."
Nara walked back into the closet, and after a couple of minutes, she came out wearing the dress.
Sharon was at a loss for words.
"So... What do you think?" Nara said, turning around so Sharon could see the back of the dress as well.
"I think that shouldn't be called a dress and should absolutely be illegal to wear anywhere, especially to a visit to one's in-laws."
Nara rolled her eyes. "You're no fun. I think I look super hot," Nara said with a hair flick as she stared at her reflection in the mirror.
The dress—if it even should be called that—was very short, backless, and transparent, revealing a lot.
"This is one of your ways of trying to punish him, isn't it?"
"What? No. I just want to look my best tonight, that's all," Nara replied with a shrug.
"Whatever," Sharon responded. "I have to get going for now, but I'll come see you again tomorrow."
"Okay," Nara replied with a smile. "I'm glad you're here, and I hope all my sins have been forgiven."
"You know I don't hold grudges," Sharon said softly with a smile as she walked over to Nara and gave her a warm hug. "Don't wear this dress," she whispered before letting go to have Nara smile mischievously.
