Chapter 61 - Prince of Serpents

Seth gripped the sword in his hands tightly, stark determination flashing in the depths of his soul. The ground quivered, and body parts flew about, yet he stood at his spot far behind the crowd of cultivators and did not take a step backwards.

"Qi wave technique!"

Lee Chun Hua growled and a bright wave of golden Qi aura blasted out of her open palms, causing agonizing damage to the creature,

"Lesser dantian slash!"

Nyakumi wielded her sword like a ninth circle sword master, each strike sending a visible slash of extremely sharp Qi aura capable of cleaving a grown man in two. Each time she made a strike, a large chunk of the creature's flesh was cut away.

"Mountain splitting fist technique!"

Each punch that Baek Daechul sent at the basilisk caused its bones to crack and black blood to ooze from the gaps in its scales.

"Dagger slash!"

While Mu Yan Zu sliced apart the creature's flesh with her hands moving far faster than a robot ever could. Each strike of her dagger drew blood and chipped away the scales. Xin Minxia, however, did not use any fancy technique or exorbitant show of strength. The young woman was oh so mundanely slicing at its tail with her sword like the rest of the other cultivators. Who'd have thought that this was the same woman who was engaged in a furious sword fight with what he now knew to be the 'other side' of Chun Hua? But Chun Hua, Nyakumi, Baek Daechul, and Mu Yan Zu were not the only stars in the show. A few other cultivators had immense strength and not everyone was from the Three Allied Sectdom. Some cultivators were from the First Empire in the north, some were from the Second Empire in the east, a sizeable number were from the Third Empire in the south, and some people had ventured from the Dao Mountains in the far west.

Yu Kangchan of the third empire was a formidable force in battle. He had a large battle axe in his large hands as he pummelled a free part of the basilisk's torso that did not have any cultivator bombarding it. With each strike, the smashing sound grew louder and louder, and the flesh flying off was growing in proportion.

"Nascent Thud technique!"

This was a special technique that only members of the Third Empire's Goreyo clan could use. This technique made each strike ten times harder than the last as far as the thud created by the weapon when it was hit against the enemy was loud enough. Another battle house was Liu Mingrui of the First Empire. This man had long black hair that reached his waist, and was using his bare hands to tear the creature apart.

"Qi transformation!"

His hands were shaped like the claws of a demon grade spirit creature and his robes were dyed black with a huge chunk of black blood. Qi transformation was one of the sacred techniques that only one who had managed to tame a spirit beast could learn. The Beast Empress, Liu Jiefan, had created the technique herself and it was exclusive to the Spirit Tamer Sect. And then there was Asuka Yamazaki, a thorough definition of the word, 'bad bitch', who wielded a fearsome Katana and not only cut apart the Basilisk, but other cultivators who got in her way. She did not even bother using a technique and just cut the surprisingly strong scales with her brute strength. She was clad in fearsome armor and had a black bandana tied over her head. Instantly, Seth could guess that she was samurai. Samurai clans grew stronger the more honorable the fight was, thus Asuka did not bother to waste her ki on the creature. It was amazing how the basilisk was still slithering while facing the full on wrath of some of the continent's, not only the entire continent even as some people from the Dao mountains utilized the Dao heart of flames or the Dao heart of Ice, to freeze and burn some parts of the beast, anyways the creature showed no sign of wearing down, and only glared at the cultivators while hissing loudly. Then a massive shadow was cast over the ground as the beast raised it's massive tail, and slammed it on a group of cultivators. It was going so fast that it couldn't be evaded in time, and only the bloody paste filled with mush and bones remained.

"Shit..."

Looking at the spectacle of absolute destruction only made Seth realized how weak he was in this world. There were beasts like Lee Chun Hua out there, and monsters that even surpassed her. How would he ever get to their level? But he had to try did he not? He had the scroll of unlimited power, and.... well, that was it, but still. The scroll was something. He would have loved to make a suit of armor and a whole lot of protective gear, but there was no time. The sword in his hand made in the likeness of the sword of griffindor had taken him almost an hour to create. He took a step forward, but stopped in his tracks as the basilisk focused it's attention on him.

[Go back, Prince of Serpents!]

"Huh?!"

Seth's eyes widened his steps came to an abrupt halt. Was he hearing stuff due to fear, or was the creature talking?

"You can talk?"

[I hate your father, but due to my affiliation to your clan, I cannot hurt him, but if you take another step, then I shall end your life here. Go back!]

"You might as well tell me to eat an apple..."

Seth chuckled as he glared back at the snake.

"I have no clan, and my father is dead."

The fact that the beast could talk had made it seem more humanoid, and humanoid things were less scary than non humanoid things in most cases. Seth summoned up all the strength he could muster. His muscles earned from diligently exercising every single day so far were being put to use as his biceps and calves bulged slightly, and he shot towards the giant snake.
