Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Wisdom and Life

In the beginning, living in this tall temple was a bit novel, but Yin Shen felt increasingly bored day after day.

He would not age, nor would he die.

But there was no physical body, just a lone soul wandering in the vast oceans of the Primordial Earth.

There was only one Fusion Monster constantly roaming the sea with a grunting sound, and there was a Sanyeren conversing with him.

Yin Shen stood atop the high temple, overlooking the vast ocean and the entire island.

The world was so expansive that it seemed to belong solely to him, yet he still felt like a prisoner.

He wasn't confined to an eternal prison, but rather trapped in a cage called time.

"Insai... Shen!"

"Because... Sai... God!"

Outside the temple,

At the gate where the sunlight streamed in, a figure blocked the light, casting a long shadow into the palace. Juli dragged a behemoth much larger than himself and placed it on the platform in front of the temple.

The shadow suddenly shrank and formed into a ball.

He knelt beside the massive temple pillar, crawling toward the formidable god in his heart and the deity who bestowed wisdom upon him.

The Sanyeren brought some rare oceanic treasures to Yin Shen, hoping to elicit a moment of joy from the gods or even a faint smile. This time it was a peculiar shrimp, a giant over five meters long, the reigning overlord of the era's oceans.

It was evident that the Sanyeren had exerted considerable effort to capture this unusual shrimp, as it bore scars on its hard carapace.

"Insaison!"

"Insai God!"

Yin Shen, seated on the stone platform by the god statue, finally chuckled, sending the Sanyeren outside into ecstatic jubilation, prompting them to dance immediately after.

Yet, little did they know that Yin Shen's amusement stemmed not from the offering of rare oceanic treasures but from the ability to continuously utter his name, even if it was incorrectly pronounced.

Yin Shen descended from the stone platform and observed the giant shrimp placed there. As he stretched out his hand, he suddenly recalled his inability to touch anything aside from Sanyeren and the Fusion Monster, leaving him with a tinge of loneliness in his eyes.

He smiled and said, "I've seen it... don't let it go to waste!"

With a thought from Yin Shen, a massive wave surged in the sea. A true behemoth emerged from the water and made its way toward the pyramid.

"Gurulu~"

"Gurulu~"

The Fusion Monster ascended the pyramid, its tentacles dragging the six-meter-long giant away and devouring it effortlessly.

In the presence of monsters like the Fusion Monster, the ocean's overlords of the Primordial Era paled in comparison.

Yin Shen stood at the temple entrance, with the mythical monster contentedly devouring the offering bestowed upon it by the gods, while the Sanyeren stood close by, watching.

Although this scene might seem terrifying to some, the three individuals regarded it as ordinary.

Yin Shen paused suddenly and gazed at the relief carved into the pillar beam.

Though lacking color, the characters seemed to come alive, depicting towering structures, bustling traffic, and countless figures traversing bustling streets.

These were carved by a skilled Sanyeren, who inherited Yin Shen's wisdom and retained fragments of these images in his memory.

Yet, he failed to comprehend the significance of these images, the multitude of people, and their differences from himself.

He couldn't grasp the concept of the iron birds soaring in the sky or the boxes traversing the ground.

He only knew that God favored these things, thus he adorned the temple's interior and exterior with such depictions.

God often stood beneath these murals and reliefs, silent yet contemplative.

Today, however, he pointed to a minuscule figure within the picture.

"Look!"

"This is humanity."

The Sanyeren quickly affirmed his identity, nodding eagerly: "I... I..."

"Human too!"

Yin Shen shook his head: "You are not human."

"You are Sanyeren."

"You are an intelligent being created by me, molded into human form by a trilobite."

The Sanyeren failed to comprehend the distinction between humans and Sanyeren.

As Yin Shen walked amidst the temple's corridors, he remarked, "I am alone, and you are alone."

"The human race has not yet emerged in this world, and you are the sole representative of the Sanyeren."

For the first time, the Sanyeren grasped the concept of race and understood that 'Sanyeren' was not his name but rather a designation bestowed upon him by God.

And he... was not human.

For the first time, the Sanyeren felt a profound sense of sadness.

"Insai God!"

"I... also... desire... a name!"

An idea struck Yin Shen. Since the Fusion Monster could merge and replicate life's characteristics, why not utilize its power to create a new race entirely?

As the Sanyeren knelt before him, Yin Shen casually bestowed a name upon him.

"Ledniche."

"Your name is Ledlicky."

The Sanyeren cheered, reminiscent of a child.

Sadness ebbed and flowed quickly.

The Fusion Monster is an unscientific mythological creation, a biological machine.

It could plunder organs from other organisms and violently merge their characteristics and genetic fragments.

Yin Shen intended to utilize its power to create a fertilized egg or embryo with Ledlicky and his predecessor, the trilobite, and then create a race through the Fusion Monster's abilities.

However, this biological machine wasn't precise, and its outputs resembled more of a random assortment.

Success required a stroke of luck, rendering the outcome uncertain.

Yet, Yin Shen remained undaunted, confident in his eventual success.

For now, all he possessed was time.

The mythical behemoth heeded the call of the god's will and ascended the temple.

Its shell could be removed, allowing Yin Shen to use it as desired.

Fusion Monster: "Gurulu."

While hundreds of intimidating eyes fixated on Yin Shen, he perceived a hint of innocence within them.

It didn't understand Yin Shen's words or the structure of his inquiries; it merely awaited commands, as dictated by the will of God.

It functioned more like a tool than a servant of God, devoid of its own desires.

Yin Shen caressed its skin. "I asked incorrectly!"

He briefly sympathized with the Fusion Monster, realizing that wisdom too was a form of mythological power.

Initially, he regarded the Sanyeren as feeble compared to the miraculous abilities of the Fusion Monster.

Now, he acknowledged the wisdom and power possessed by the Sanyeren as the true myths and miracles.

People often deemed what they possessed as worthless, yet Yin Shen now realized their supreme significance in the vast universe.
