It was out in a desserted port of the city, near the very borders of two states, where gangs, criminals, and militias run riot, fighting each other over various reasons, and resources. Inside one of the large warehouses, there were various corpses on the floor, each wearing flamboyant and colour streetwear, while covering their identity. Well it didn't really matter, since they were dead.
As opposed to the flamboyantly dressed dead corpses, there were soldiers covered from head to toe in dark atire, walking amongst the corpses, checking for any signs of life. Carrying with them were assault rifles, X-89's, a prototype assault rifle that had found their way into their hands and had proven highly effective, shooting 6.5 x 50 mm rounds, that weren't heavy, but were highly effective. Durable, reliable, and most importantly, was excellent for mid to long range combat with tons of available customization options, and could effectively hold fourty round magazines, useful when compared to the modern day counterparts of thirty. As for the few last advantages, it used common rounds, so it didn't attract attention when ammunition was bought, and was easily repairable, having only a few large parts, as opposed to complicated parts.
An all around beauty of a weapon. As the dark clad soldiers stepped around, carefully checking every body, talking could be heard coming from one of the rooms. Inside, there was a handsome young man with dark black hair, and red eyes dressed in a black suit, stepping his shoe on a bald colourfuly dressed man. His sharp eye brows, eagle eyes, small nose, and sharp jawline, said that he would've been the perfect actor, yet he chose this life, as opposed to the other.
Scattered around the room, were whatever remains there were of an office, with two other corpses. In addition to that, there were five other dark dressed soldiers, standing on guard, with one of them standing right next to the handsome young man.
"So you want to take my weapons, my merchandise, my gear, without paying a dime? Really?" Exclaimed the young man, his voice slightly taunting, rich with sarcasm.
"N-n-n-o, I can explain th-."
"Explain what?" He impatiently interrupted."You putting a bullet into me?"
"No sir Krassius, I was jus-."
"Ssshhhhh, no need to say anymore." He stomped his shoe down on his face, shutting the man up. He turned to the man next to him with a sneer on his face. "Anything of value found?"
"Sir." The dark dressed soldier next to the man nodded before putting a finger to his ear. "Alpha one, anything of value been found?"
A short silence was received as the soldier listened to the reply. In the meantime, the man took his shoe off in disgust and grumbled to himself, checking his watch. "Sir, Alpha one says that there's nothing found."
The suited man turned to the soldier in surprise. "Nothing?! Not even in this entire port?!"
The soldier nodded and explained, "They're only a ragtag gang. Only thing we have found of significance is that they were paid to keep this area under control by the Fontanas Militia."
"Ugggh, what a waste of time." The young man clicked his tongue taking his foot off of the mans face before walking out of the room. "I leave the clean up to you."
"Sir." All the soldiers in the room nodded before taking out small round red devices that were inconspicuosly flashing and tossed them out onto the floor. The man lying on the floor looked up in surprise, recognizing what they were and started to panic. "Sir Krassius, SIR KRASSIUS!! THIS WAS ALL A MISUNDERSTANDING!!"
As the man continued to beg, one of the soldiers pulled out a knife and silenced the man. With that done, the soldiers walked out of the room, weapons raised. As they walked out of the warehouse, they quietly, with extreme caution headed towards the small warship docked at the pier.
With a length of 155 metres, an impressive displacement of 10,000 tonnes, a width of 20 metres, armor thickness of 15 cms, coupled with a large array of armaments, ranging from missiles, to several 30 mm chain gun, two 200 mm central cannon systems, and two phalanx defense systems. Furthremore it was equipped with the latest cloaking and detecting systems, making it the ultimate little missile boat. Standing on the deck of the ship, the man in the suit beckoned the soldiers to move faster as the warship spurred to life, it's systems functioning as its cloaking device activated, covering the ship like a bubble.
As the last soldier made it on the ship, it took off with a roar, the engines humming as it moved along the surface of the water. On cue, the warehouse exploded an eruption of flames, consuming everything, as it swept along the port. "I'm glad we didn't bring the merch along",interjected the man as he took out his phone, checking his emails, while heading below deck. "Inform Tydus to do some digging as to who was behind this. I don't believe that this could be chalked up to 'an ambitious gang'. There's something much bigger going on."
The soldier next to him nodded, as he accompanied him below deck. Behind them, a blazing port that burned as bright as the sun stood, sending plumes of smoke up into the sky. Sailing into the darkness, their tracks were covered perfectly, with not a trace of their presence left.
Around five minutes later, a group of flying colourful figures in various coloured costumes flew in from above, accompanied by a small ship. Hovering above the chaos and destruction they scanned every inch of the port for any signs of danger before landing amongst the flames.
"Red, what happened here?" asked the lead man, wearing a red and blue costume, with a well defined body and a sharp handsome face. His blue eyes darted about trying to make heads and tails of the case. "This wasn't even a fight, it was a massacare."
"Deal gone wrong, presumably the neon hawks tried to screw someone over, and got screwed in return big time",replied one of the other figures next to him, dressed in an all red outfit with a mask covering his face. He pulled out a small device that scanned one of the bullet casings he had found on the floor. "Scanners show that this was from a ballistic rifle of the Arisaka capacity. But what would they be doing all the way out here?"
"It stinks." One of the figures dressed in pink, pinched her nose, and waved her hand, creating a gust of violent wind that blew through the ruins, blowing the flames out completely. She turned to look up at the others with slight discomfort. "This is horrible. We came too late to stop it."
Rummaging among the wreckage, one of the figures dressed in all black lifted up a corpse and threw it to the side. "It's criminals killing other criminals. Who cares. They're making it easier for us to clean the streets."
"But they're still people who can turn their life around. People who can do good", rebutted the pink girl. "Our job is to stop conflict all together, not let it fester."
"Then your thinking is naive",interjected a heavy voice as a deep heavy set man emerged from the rear of the ship. Covered in head to toe in mechanical armor he stared at the two bickering people with his mechanical eyes. "As soon someone picks up a weapon of any sort, than they're deemed a threat to all others around them. Do not mistake that."
All the figures nodded, as they turned their attention to the ruins trying to find clues, with sirens wailing in the distance.
The pink costumed girl looked out towards the water, staring off into the darkness with a heavy heart. She knew that they were right, but deep down, people aren't always inherently prone to violence. All they need is just some guidance. But how much till they fully rely on you, is unknown.
