Chapter 47 - Lion

JacQuarius arrived at the entrance and was taken aback by the scene that greeted him—a crowd eagerly awaiting his arrival. Cheers and boos filled the air, creating a charged atmosphere.

"GO BLACK DRAGON!" "IT'S THE GIANT SLAYER!" The chants resonated loudly, a mix of adoration and rivalry.

Despite the mixed reception, JacQuarius couldn't help but feel a surge of confidence and joy. Walking down what felt like a red carpet toward the battle arena, he soaked in the energy of the crowd. The support and excitement fueled his determination, amplifying the significance of the impending showdown. The pathway to the arena seemed to stretch out before him, each step bringing him closer to the moment that would define their destinies.

"We can't lose, but we can't die either. If things go awry, I'll call the FBI for an escape plan. Sometimes in life, you've got to play it pussy in the moment, so you can strike back like a lion in the future," JacQuarius remarked, his tone calculated and resolute.

Kiyomi and Tela nodded in agreement as they entered the building, greeted by a crowd eagerly anticipating their battle. Uncertain how to react, they proceeded toward the central arena.

Surrounding the arena, eight FBI agents ensured security, safeguarding the integrity of the match and protecting the spectators.

As JacQuarius and his group approached the arena, an FBI agent halted their advance.

"Stop here, sir. The battle will commence after the announcements. Please wait until then," instructed the agent.

JacQuarius and his companions waited in anticipation, unsure of what was to come.

Five minutes later, a news crew entered the room, broadcasting the scene live. A female newscaster approached JacQuarius and his group, bombarding them with questions, the intensity of the moment palpable as the world watched.

"JacQuarius, is it true that you killed Daniel's mother? Oh and do you have faith in winning today's battle? Currently on BanDuel, you're at -130 odds of winning making you the fan favorite!"

JacQuarius was shocked from hearing that from the newscaster, but he replied," Yes, I killed her. I tortured her on my InstaBram live, my instabram is @AkibaBlackDragon, and we're the fan favorites because we have no chance of losing. We've won on multiple occasions already, it won't be any different here today besides being Televised."

The newscaster then began to move to Kiyomi, but JacQuarius grabbed the mic back and said another remark.

"Oh wait, I forgot to tell you. Shoutout my nigga Ian over there, ask him how his back feel. Shot after Shot, you would've thought we were bartenders the way we were serving him!"

The newscaster laughed before moving to Kiyomi.

"Is it true that you and JacQuarius are dating? That would totally make you the Dragon Queen, imagine that. Dragon Queen + Black Dragon, a match made in heaven!"

Kiyomi blushed and didn't reply, just pushed away the mic.

She then asked Tela a question, this time.

"Tela the Giant Slayer! Now how did you get that name? The fans and I would love to hear the story behind it."

Tela smiled and replied quite smugly," You see that bitch ass nigga over there?"

He then pointed to Ian, who was waiting on the other side of the stage with Daniel and Selena.

"That's the giant I slayed. I told him I would defeat him in 1 attack, he didn't believe me so he used his ultimate attack, turning into the giant and attacking me. I ate that shit, and knocked him out in 1 punch!"

"Well, WOW! I'm sure the fans are going crazy and loved that story. Thank you for your time, and good luck in the battle, guys. Now, we're off to interview Daniel's group!" The newscaster's excitement was evident as she departed to find Daniel's team.

Arriving at Daniel's location, she jogged over and launched into a series of questions.

"Daniel, is it true that you killed JacQuarius's family? Also, your odds on Banduel are at +180—you're considered a serious underdog in this battle. How does that feel?" The newscaster probed, expecting a response.

Daniel, his expression steely and focused, stared at JacQuarius with intense killing intent. "No comment," he replied curtly, ignoring her presence entirely.

Undeterred, the newscaster turned her attention to Selena, her line of questioning taking an unexpectedly disrespectful turn.

"We actually don't have any questions for you. The world despises you and thinks you're a whore. They even voted to remove your Banduel odds because of the widespread animosity," the newscaster remarked, leaving Selena visibly shocked and hurt by the public humiliation.

Next, she directed her focus towards Ian, only to be abruptly interrupted.

Before she could finish her question, Daniel lashed out, delivering a punch that knocked the newscaster unconscious. The FBI agents observed but refrained from intervening, bound by the rules of the neutral environment. The tense atmosphere in the arena heightened, setting the stage for an electrifying and unpredictable showdown.

JacQuarius charged over seeing the situation, the agents tried to stop him, but he brushed past them like they were nothing.

"Fuck is you doing bitch ass nigga, attacking innocent people like that! Swing on me like that nigga, I dare you!" JacQuarius barked, as he got all up in Daniel's face, looking down on him and bumping his chest.

Daniel didn't reply, he just sat there smiling at JacQuarius!

"Kiyomi help the lady, so we can get this shit started. This nigga got me fucked up, I'm damn near finna slap the shit outta him for real."

Kiyomi rushed to assist the newscaster, using her abilities to heal her from unconsciousness. As the newscaster regained her bearings, she grabbed her microphone and attempted to salvage the unfolding chaos, communicating urgently with her cameraman.

However, the tense moment was interrupted when Daniel unexpectedly launched an attack at Kiyomi—a sneak attack to start the battle prematurely.

Reacting swiftly, JacQuarius intercepted the attack, leaping in front of Kiyomi to block the strike. He deflected the energy blade, redirecting its force away from its intended target and dispersing the threat elsewhere within the building.

The sudden escalation injected a surge of adrenaline into the atmosphere, setting the stage for an intense and unforeseen confrontation. The arena crackled with anticipation as the battle between the two groups ignited earlier than expected, the stakes and tension escalating with each passing moment.
