Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Auction(2)

Rye instantly lowered her eyes as she felt them well up in tears at the thought that someone was being molested in front of her and she could do absolutely nothing about it.

The woman wasn't the only one and to make matters worse, Rye was sure that the moment Magnimus was done, she would be next.

'If I run, they'll catch me. I-I can't do this!'

Rye wasn't the only one with such a thought as the other slaves bought by Magnimus turned to stare at each other with fearful eyes.

"Urgh! Urgh!" Magnimus groaned thrusting quickly almost like he was in a race against time, as he slowly sucked on the blood of the woman in his arms.

The slurping sounds were disgusting and the moans that echoed across the hall were worse.

"I-I can't stay here," Another woman suddenly spoke up bolting the moment she spoke only to be tossed to the ground before she was able to take an additional step.

"Please-Please!" she began to plead only for her to be knocked out cold before another word could pop out of her mouth.

Rye could feel her entire forehead covered in sweat one that was followed by an expression of horror the second she raised her head and saw the woman in Magnimus' hands moaning like there was no tomorrow.

Her blood was being sucked and she was being degraded in the worst possible way yet she seemed to enjoy it.

Rye couldn't understand what was happening but just when she was hoping for some extra time she saw Magnimus suddenly pull away and toss the woman to the ground.

"Next!" he shouted in the form of a growl, his red eyes glowing more vibrantly than before.

'Hell No!' Rye cursed under her breath, doing her best not to let her eyes wander down to his naked lower body.

For the first time, she regretted not being proactive with her sexual life.

"Should I take this as an act of disobedience?" Magnimus asked her, turning to face her squarely without trying to cover up. No embarrassment to be found in his gaze.

For the first time since she got to the strange world, she found herself in, Rye no longer cared about survival as the look of fear in her eyes slowly warped into one of defiance.

"You can take it however--ahh," Rye said, prepared to fight to her last breath if she had to only to hear a loud explosion, one that shook the ground she stood on hard enough for her to fall to the ground.

Rye wasn't the only one as the others around her also did the same all except the reds who continued to stand. They all seemed to have a strange strength in their legs that kept them on their feet.

"WHAT IS THAT?" Magnimus barked at his guards who instantly separated to move closer to the door but they didn't have to.

Rye looked up wondering what was happening and the reason for the commotion only for her jaw to drop open in utter shock as she watched a group of men walk in.

They were all dressed in black with a cloth covering the lower part of their face, that stopped them from being recognized, yet staring at the person at the very front, Rye was desperate to rip the cloth on his face off.

Seeing the upper part of his face was enough to see how handsome he was bound to be, but above all, it was the gold color of his eyes that drew Rye in.

"He's human! He's human right?" Rye wondered allowed completely forgetting the fact that she was in the midst of a group of vampires.

"Fool!" Magnimus barked at her with a dark and cold look on his face, glancing at her before turning to look back at the intruders.

He wasn't the only one that was pissed. The other VIPs felt the same way as they hurriedly stopped what they had been doing and buttoned up their pants to glare at the entrance of the hall.

"It looks like I didn't interrupt much since most of you finished too quickly," The leader began and Rye had to bite her inner lips to stop herself from smiling.

"I heard on good authority that there are Yorets here," He began to speak, his voice loud and deep as it echoed in everyone's ears.

"Yorets? Are you stupid or something?" A VIP, not far away from Magnimus spoke up, with a look of utter disgust on his face.

"Who doesn't know that the Yorets are all dead? Seeing as how you dared to attack the slave tower, you all must want to die!" The man said raising his voice and speaking authoritatively.

But he had barely stopped speaking when Rye watched the leader of the intruders raise his left hand like he was about to wave at someone.

The attack was fast, so fast that Rye completely missed it and only saw the result, shocked to see tens of arrows descend and penetrate the bodies of the guards of the man who had just finished talking.

It was the first time Rye had seen Reds be attacked, and the first time she would see them bleed.

'Their blood is red and they can die,' Rye thought to herself, a faint smile spreading on her face, only for her to freeze in shock as she saw one of them pull out the arrow embedded in his neck like it was nothing.

The wound healed at a speed indiscernible to the human eye.

"What the"

"IS THAT ALL YOU CAN DO? GUARDS! KILL THEM ALL!" Magnimus mocked from the side, ordering his guards to attack first.

Rye was stunned as she watched the guards that surrounded Magnimus disappear and appear closer to the entrance in a split second.

"They're fast!" Rye mumbled under her breath, intent on staying on the ground as she watched the events around her unfold.

As much as she was thankful for the arrival of the intruders, all she cared about was escaping the second she got the opportunity to.

But she had barely watched from where she stood when she was shocked to see some of the Reds start to turn on one another.

She saw the Intruders take to the air, with wings on their backs firing rows of arrows that couldn't be completely avoided.

Some with fire attached to them.

'Santors!"

The other intruders broke off and simply from the bulging areas on their foreheads she could tell that they were 'Hornels'.

'They belong to the other species in this weird place. So they're also against the Reds. Moreover! Their leader is a human,' Rye thought as she watched from the floor she sat on, smart enough not to move yet.

One of the women beside her wasn't though, and she had just turned around to run when Magnimus picked her up and tossed her into the center of the battle, where a Red grabbed and tore into her neck even before she landed.

'Fuel!' Rye mentally gasped, shocked but at the same time knew better than to show too much of a reaction before she became next in line to be Red Food.

The screams were loud and the fight was surprisingly more balanced than Rye assumed it would be.

Considering how powerful the Reds were, she expected that the intruder group would be wiped out in seconds only to surprisingly see that she was completely wrong.

"These Idiots!" Magnimus grumbled aloud, shocked to see a VIP he was acquainted with die in the hands of the leader of the intruders.

With a loud growl from the bottom of his throat, he ran and leaped forward jumping right into the center of the battle without caring about anything else.

Rye didn't hesitate any longer as she slowly got on her feet, her entire focus on Magnimus as she tried to make sure that his attention was no longer on the slaves he bought.

"They've blocked the entrance, how the hell are we supposed to get out of here," One of the women beside her spoke up, while the other tried to wake up the slave that had been knocked unconscious on the floor.

Apart from the one that died, they were all four in number including Rye, who also noticed that their escape route was a big problem.

"Regardless we need to leave her before any of them decides to pick one of us off," The oldest of them who had just slapped the one on the ground awake spoke up.

They didn't know each other's names and all of them were unfamiliar with each other, but the fact that they were all in the same terrible situation made them band together.

"I think we should look for another entrance," a younger girl said with tears running down her eyes, one she hurriedly tried to wipe off, considering she had been the one Magnimus had chosen to feed on.

She looked extremely weak, and none of them thought she could make it out of the hall even if no one mentioned it.

"We can't! We don't have enough time! If we take the risk and find even a single Red, it's game over for us. If we take too much time and the fight ends, we'll still be back to square 1 and truthfully, I'd rather be dead," Rye said, speaking as quickly as she could while watching everything that was going on around her at the same time.

The humans were around trying to avoid the Reds and they were being picked up one after the other, the second they were spotted.

"I also think we can't run around in groups!" Rye mentioned, realizing that doing such a thing would make them stand out even more.

The older woman immediately spoke up first, " I'll take her," she said pointing at the young lady who looked pale enough to faint the moment they began to move.

Rye had a nagging thought in her head, one she failed to pursue as she nodded and immediately pointed at the girl who had tried to escape at the very beginning and had been knocked out.

'At least she seems a little brave,'

"I'll take her!" Rye said, with the knowledge that the moment they all began to move from where they crouched,, they could be bitten and sucked dry.
