The teleportation platform hummed softly beneath my feet, glowing with a faint crimson light as the magic began to swirl around us. I shifted nervously, tugging at the cuffs of my suit jacket, which suddenly felt a size too small.

"Relax, darling," Lilith said, brushing a speck of nonexistent dust off my shoulder. "You're acting like you're about to face a war council, not marry the love of your life."
"I don't get this nervous for war councils," I muttered under my breath, earning a snicker from Lise, who stood nearby with Eileen.
"She's got a point, you know," Lise chimed in, her arms crossed as she leaned casually against the edge of the platform.
"I've seen you charge into battle with less hesitation. What's the worst that could happen today?"
