Dinner that night was meant to be a formal affair a quiet opportunity for Lydia to sit with her council, exchange pleasantries, and discuss the day's events. But with Ignis around, any notion of calm or quiet quickly evaporated.
As we made our way to the grand dining hall, Ignis was a little bundle of energy, darting between my legs, nipping at my heels, and flitting up onto Lydia's shoulder whenever she bent down slightly.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the sight, especially with how delighted Lydia seemed by all of it.
"You're spoiling him," I muttered, walking alongside her as Ignis flicked his tail playfully around her neck.
Lydia only gave me a sidelong glance, the corners of her lips tugging upward in amusement. "He's just a baby, Aurelia. He needs love."
