As we finished breakfast, I braced myself for the day ahead. Myra, ever the bundle of energy, seemed to have endless things to talk about as we walked towards the training grounds. I had to admit, for someone so small and sprightly, she sure knew how to keep a conversation going.
"Commander Aurelia," she began, walking quickly to keep up with my longer strides, "I've already reviewed today's plan, and I think you'll be pleased. First, we'll begin with a warm-up drill for the demon soldiers something to sharpen their reflexes. Then we'll move into combat exercises. I've made sure to add variety so no one gets too comfortable." She smiled, clearly proud of herself.
I couldn't help but grin at her enthusiasm. "I'm sure you've thought of everything, Myra," I said, half-sarcastically, half-amused.
