We peered into the pit, the darkness making it difficult to see. Seraphine and Riley were at the bottom, dazed but unharmed. The pit was deep, the walls steep and covered in vines and roots.
Aurelia crossed her arms, a look of frustration on her face. "We don't have time for this. We should leave them and keep moving. They'll find a way out eventually."
I turned to her, my expression incredulous. "Leave them? We can't just abandon our friends, Aurelia. They're part of our team."
Aurelia shook her head, her voice firm. "Every minute we waste here puts us closer to danger. We need to focus on our mission. The longer we delay, the more time we give the demon king to strengthen his forces."
I clenched my fists, trying to keep my temper in check. "I understand the urgency, but Seraphine and Riley are not expendable. We need them. We can't just leave them behind like this."
