After our morning meal, Aurelia and I discussed the reports from the guards about the increasing number of rogue demons. The urgency of the situation weighed heavily on me, but I also felt a sense of determination. We couldn't let these threats continue to grow unchecked.
As we were strategizing, Riley approached us, her expression resolute. "Lydia, do you mind if I go train with the human soldiers? I need to stay sharp, and it might be good for morale if they see me training alongside them."
I nodded, appreciating her dedication. "Of course, Riley. Go ahead. I'll join you shortly."
Aurelia and I made our way to the training grounds. The sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow over the area. The soldiers were already hard at work, practising their drills and sparring with one another. I could see Riley at the far end, her movements fluid and precise as she sparred with one of the soldiers. She was in her element, her focus unwavering.
