The next morning, I woke up first, as I often did. The early morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over the room. I turned to look at Lydia, still sleeping soundly beside me. Her hair was spread out across the pillow, and her skin glowed softly in the dawn light. She looked absolutely beautiful, her features relaxed in slumber.
I couldn't resist the urge to lean in and give her a soft kiss. As my lips touched her skin, she stirred slightly, a small smile playing on her lips.
"Good morning," I whispered, my voice barely audible.
To my surprise, Lydia's eyes fluttered open, and she looked at me with a mischievous glint. "I wasn't really sleeping," she admitted, her voice still husky from sleep.
I chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "You fooled me."
She grinned and stretched, her body arching gracefully. "I was enjoying the moment. It's rare we get to just lie here without any interruptions."
