A few days had passed, and today was supposed to be the last service I had to do. This final task was crucial; it was my last chance to secure the necessary support from the council members. I dressed quickly, the anticipation and anxiety gnawing at me. I had to succeed today.
I headed towards Council Member Sir Reginald's chambers, determined to see this through. However, when I arrived, Sir Reginald met me with a dismissive wave.
"Princess Lydia, I have no tasks for you today," he said curtly.
I stared at him in disbelief. "But... you must need something. Anything. Just give me a chance to prove myself."
He shook his head, his expression unyielding. "No. I don't want anything from you."
Frustration boiled within me. I clenched my fists, struggling to maintain my composure. "You can't just say no. I need your support on the council."
"And you won't get it," he replied coldly. "Now leave."
