I woke up with a smile lingering on my lips, the memories of the previous night with Aurelia still fresh in my mind. The warmth of her presence, the tenderness of her touch, and the depth of our connection had left me feeling blissfully content.

I reached out for her, but my hand met an empty space. My smile faltered slightly as I realized she wasn't there.

Sitting up, I ran a hand through my hair and touched my neck absentmindedly. A slight twinge of pain made me wince. I glanced at my fingers, stained with a drop of blood.

Aurelia had fed from me last night, a part of our bond that was both intimate and necessary. I didn't mind; in fact, it was a reminder of how deeply we were connected.

I climbed out of bed and padded over to the mirror, examining the faint bite marks on my neck. They would heal quickly, but for now, they were a reminder of the previous night's passion.
