The room I entered was unlike any other part of the laboratory I had seen. It was dimly lit, with walls painted a deep, velvety maroon that seemed to absorb the light. In the center stood a chair that resembled a throne, upholstered in black leather with silver studs glinting along its high back. The air was cooler here, a stark contrast to the warmth of the morning sun outside.

She was there, waiting—a vampire woman of striking beauty. Her skin was pale, almost translucent, and her hair fell in a cascade of midnight waves over her shoulders. Her eyes, a piercing shade of sapphire, watched me with an intensity that was both unnerving and captivating.

She wore a long, flowing gown that hugged her figure, the color of which was a shade darker than the walls, giving her the appearance of emerging from the shadows themselves.
