I watched as Lydia and Riley sauntered off, laughing about something I couldn't hear. Riley had that smug older-sibling vibe that grated on me, and Lydia, well, she was smiling and relaxed in a way I hadn't seen in a while.

I should have been happy for her. A sister day or whatever. But I was left here, alone.

"Great," I muttered under my breath, crossing my arms and leaning against the castle wall. Lydia was off to enjoy a carefree day, while I was stuck with... what exactly? Seraphine? Ciara? A literal ghost town of social options.

Seraphine was nice enough, but she had this air of quiet authority, especially with her being the future demon queen.

It didn't help that she looked a little too polished, too graceful, like she had her life perfectly together. I mean, the woman had red hair that somehow looked like a flame and the eyes of a predator, and here I was, stuck sulking about a stupid sister day.
