I woke up to the sound of rustling and soft whispers, half asleep and cocooned in the warmth of Lydia's embrace. For a blissful moment, I was completely relaxed. But that moment was short-lived.
Suddenly, a loud thud jolted me awake. Lydia stirred beside me, her brows furrowing, still caught in her dreams. I blinked, groggy, and looked over to the source of the noise.
At the foot of the bed, Ignis was prancing around, his tiny wings flapping wildly as if he had just discovered they worked. He knocked over a chair, sending it crashing into the dresser.
"Elara!" a voice hissed from the doorway, barely muffled. "Get him before they wake up!"
I turned my head slowly and spotted Elara, Lydia's new bodyguard, standing by the door with a panicked look on her face. She was clearly trying and failing to wrangle Ignis, who was darting around like an excited puppy.
