I stood silently by the window of Lydia's room, my eyes fixed on her as she furiously scribbled something on a piece of parchment. The moonlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over her form. She was so engrossed in her writing that she didn't notice my presence.
A chuckle escaped my lips, and Lydia's head snapped up, her eyes narrowing in irritation. "Who's there?" she demanded, her voice edged with anger.
"It's just me," I said, stepping into the room with a playful grin. "You look like you're ready to murder that parchment."
Lydia's expression softened for a moment before hardening again. "Aurelia, what are you doing here? How did you get in? There was a magic barrier before."
I shrugged nonchalantly. "It weirdly disappeared. Maybe your mother forgot to renew it or something."
Lydia's eyes widened with suspicion. "That barrier was strong. Are you sure you didn't do anything to it?"
