The battle was growing more desperate by the second. The deformed giant in front of us was unlike any opponent we'd ever faced. It was once a human, but now, twisted and grotesque, it seemed to cancel out our magic, making it almost impossible to gain any advantage.
I launched another beam of light magic at the creature, but the energy dissipated against its thick, mottled skin.
"Damn it!" I cursed under my breath, dodging a massive fist that slammed into the ground where I'd just been standing. "Lise, Eileen, we need a new strategy!"
Eileen's blue fire magic blazed brightly as she attempted to scorch the giant, but it merely shrugged off the flames. "This thing is a nightmare!" she shouted, frustration clear in her voice. "My fire isn't doing anything!"
