When Arun stepped into the clearing, he had his bow in his hands. He wanted to be ready for any attack that came his way, which is why he had an arrow nocked and ready to shoot, as he went in.
But as he stepped into the clearing, he needed clarification about what the hell he was looking at. He could smell the blood, and could even see the splashes of it all around the clearing. Yet, there was nobody in sight. As he went deeper, he saw that the soil had become muddy red, he could only imagine the amount of blood needed to make the soil change its color. And considering there is a finite amount of blood in one's body, he figured that a lot of deaths had taken place in this clearing.
It was very hard to determine what exactly happened there, but he did spot prints of a monkey, and that of a dog all around the clearing. Which meant a group of Kongs and Kobolds had fought in this place.
