"Scared?" he whispered into her ear, his voice low.
She reached up to tuck her windblown bangs behind her ear, "Uh, it's quite thrilling, like an acrophobic walking on top of a skyscraper. But I've learned to handle this feeling now."
He scooped her into his arms, bowed his head and kissed the top of her head, closing his eyes and gently rubbing his chin against her hair.
"Baby, if you want to give up now, you can just say it at any time, I don't want to see you suffer!"
"I'm not suffering! Really, I'm fine! It's just... there aren't any memories popping up in my mind!" she said, a bit lost.
"Hmm, don't worry, take it slow, we still have three days!"
Her back against his chest, she instantly felt much more secure. He hugged her from behind, their fingers tightly interlocked. As he bowed his head, he could smell the faint fragrance from her soft hair.
Outside the window, the sun was setting, and the vast sea was dyed blood red by the half-sunk sun.
