Wei Anning followed closely beside Leng Youchen, feeling so nervous under everyone's gaze that she could hardly breathe; she was not used to being the center of attention like this.
Sensing her tension, Leng Youchen quietly took her hand, his fingers parting hers and slowly interlocking with her index finger. Wei Anning instinctively looked up at him, and he gave her a gentle smile, "My wife, with me here, all you need to do is smile."
Wei Anning took a deep breath to calm herself and then smiled at him.
Leng Youchen's eyes were full of admiration as he led her into the crowd.
The people surrounding them automatically parted to create a pathway for them.
As a waiter with a bottle of wine passed by, Wei Anning poured Leng Youchen a glass of red wine and took a fruit drink for herself. Still holding hands, Leng Youchen whispered, "Grandfather is over there; let's go say hello to him first."
Wei Anning nodded and followed Leng Youchen over to Old Master Leng.
