Leng Youchen leaned back in his chair, the wounds on his forehead and leg throbbing faintly. He closed his eyes, the scene that had shaken him to the core flashing before his mind's eye. If that person had come to assassinate her, he dared not contemplate what the consequences would have been.
"Li Dong, drive faster."
The man commanded in a deep voice, eager to return quickly and see with his own eyes that she was unharmed; only then would his heart truly find peace.
Having returned to the hotel, Leng Youchen was now dressed again in a suit and leather shoes. Before stepping out of the car, he adjusted his hair in the rearview mirror to cover the wound on his forehead caused by shattered glass.
