When the setting sun cast its slanted rays upon the city, Qianning finally dragged her weary body back to the rented cabin. She unlocked the door with her key, and, unlike usual, Lele didn't bound over like a little bunny to hug her legs. Puzzled, she then heard Beigong Cang's voice coming from the dining room.
"Lele, go wash your hands before you eat!" This voice was indeed Beigong Cang's.
Qianning couldn't believe it as she stepped briskly toward the dining room. There, on the table, was a roast chicken, and Auntie was diligently picking vegetables. Beigong Cang watched as Lele scurried off into the washroom on her short legs.
"What are you doing here?" Qianning asked in surprise.
It was then that Auntie looked up: "Lele's mom is back." She said with a coy smile, "I'll go cook now. Lele's dad is also watching over her, making sure she doesn't eat too much of this and spoil her dinner."
