School had started, and the cake shop located near the university's main gate bustled with activity once again.
The tiny shop, minus the back workroom, was just over a dozen square meters. Qianning, wearing an apron, was behind the counter skillfully packaging a cake for a customer. After that customer left, the plump middle-aged shop manager approached her.
"Qianning," he said, wearing that tall hat for baking that made him look quite ridiculous, "what about the thing I mentioned to you yesterday?"
Feeling a bit guilty, Qianning sorted the cakes on the counter, bowing her head to avoid looking at the manager, "I talked to her, she said she's quite busy with her class schedule this term and can't come to help out."
The manager's face sank upon hearing this. But the next second, he was smiling again, as the Barbie doll-like girl who had come to play yesterday walked in through the door.
