"Mom, how did you find out about this?" Brown Kress experienced a momentary blank in his mind when he heard his mother's words. Then, he shuddered as it hit him: if the shareholders of the Brown Family knew about his dealings with The Underworld, there was no telling what awaited him.
"Where did I hear it? All the shareholders have been calling me. What the hell is going on with you? Have you forgotten the ancestral teachings of the Brown Family, huh?" By the end of her tirade, Old Lady Brown's voice had risen several decibels in her agitation.
"Mom, don't get so worked up," Brown Kress attempted to comfort his mother. But clearly, it was not very effective.
"How can I not get worked up? I just handed over the position of the Family Head to you, and now look at the mess you've stirred up. Are you trying to hand over the position of the Family Head of the Brown Family to that BASTARD?" Old Lady Brown couldn't hide her agitation at the thought of his illegitimate child.
