Ren Chuqing slowly sat up, gazing steadily at Qin Jingzhi.
"You..." she hesitated, and after a moment, she slowly said, "Thank you."
Qin Jingzhi's eyes dimmed. Her words of thanks, at this moment, sounded so piercing to his ears.
"What are you thanking me for?" he asked, sitting by her bed and leaning toward her.
"Thank you for taking Mianmian out of there," she said, noting that the injuries on Mianmian's face hadn't worsened. That meant that after she had passed out, it must have been him who had taken Mianmian and left that place.
He gave a bitter smile, "Are you thanking me just because I helped someone else?"
"Mianmian isn't someone else, she's my most important friend." Ren Chuqing said, "I really am grateful to you."
"Lu Mianmian is your most important friend, so what am I to you, what am I?" Qin Jingzhi asked quietly.
Ren Chuqing pressed her lips together, remaining silent.
