Mother Lu stood not far from Lu Mianmian, obviously having witnessed the scene that had just unfolded.
"Mom," Lu Mianmian stepped forward, "why did you... come down?"
"I was worried because you hadn't arrived yet, so I came down to check on you," Mother Lu said, glancing at Lu Na, who was arguing with the security guard. "That child is also going through a tough time with her parents in trouble; she has nowhere to vent..."
"I understand," Lu Mianmian said. "I won't hold it against her, but I'm not going to let her insult me willy-nilly either."
Mother Lu looked at her daughter with relief. "You did well just now, Mianmian, you've really grown up."
"Mom, I'm 28 years old, do you still think I'm a child?" Lu Mianmian said. "Let's go upstairs."
Mother Lu nodded.
The two entered the elevator and arrived at Father Lu's hospital room.
Father Lu was in a comatose state, still wrapped in thick bandages.
While taking out her mother's dinner, Lu Mianmian asked, "How was Dad today?"
