After dinner, Jian Shichu chatted with Lu Di for a while longer and had the butler prepare a guest room for Lu Di to stay in, then he and Ye Qingci went back to their bedroom together.
After taking a bath, Jian Shichu looped an arm around Ye Qingci's neck and lay flat on the bed, staring at the ceiling without a trace of sleepiness.
Ye Qingci turned to look at him and touched his face, "What's wrong?"
Jian Shichu smiled and shook his head, turned to look at her, and pinched her cheek, "Why do I suddenly feel like I am sending off a daughter in marriage?"
"Hmm?" Ye Qingci blinked amusedly.
Jian Shichu also laughed, propping his head on his other arm, and joked, "Right now, I feel like I raised a cabbage only for it to be taken away by a pig, pot and all."
