Seeing the scene unfold before him, Xiao Ying swiftly grabbed the half-filled jug of distilled water from the water cooler and poured it all over Jian Shichu's back, which had been scalded by the seafood bisque.
The cool liquid eased the intense pain of the burns.
Jian Shichu sat up straight and helped Ye Qingci, who he had pressed down onto the seat, to her feet, frowning at her, "Did it burn you?"
Ye Qingci's face was pale as she shook her head, "No."
Jian Shichu's broad back had shielded her completely from the bowl of seafood bisque, so she wasn't scalded; her clothes were merely splashed with some of the distilled water poured by Xiao Ying.
"Young Master, please go upstairs to wash," Xiao Ying said. "I'll go buy some burn ointment for you."
Jian Shichu faced somewhat green from the pain, taking Ye Qingci with him to his private suite on the floor below.
