Chapter Four
C
Amila sat down in her class which seemed rather old as if it was history itself. "You can't have history without old right?" she thought to herself. When she suddenly heard a chuckle in her head. "The hell?" she thought again to herself. She heard nothing this time so she shoved it aside and decided to focus on the lesson.
"Good day class, I am Mr Wordsworth and for those that haven't met me before I am your history teacher." The man's voice didn't sound croaked and slowed like the typical boring history teacher. He had a much younger voice, that had an alluring tone to it. He was sixty years old but this man looked like he was in his early forties. He had jet-black hair, with streaks of grey in it that made it seem like he dyed the grey instead of the black, a perfect set of teeth with a bright smile, grey eyes and dark skin, he seemed to be Indian but looked like "Brad Pitt" if he was heavily tanned.
Cam was taken aback at the man's handsomeness. She tried searching for any magical signatures behind the man's beauty but was left with nothing.
"Damn," she thought to herself. When the voice then came to her head again. "Not the gerontophile"
"Ok, who is this person" shouted Camila in her head.
"You'll know soon enough," chuckled the person.
The man wore a white button-up shirt, with the top collar buttons left unbuttoned, suit trousers, and Louis Vuitton court shoes.
"Now that that's settled let's move on shall we?" the man continued "We all know the vampire species, their ruthlessness, durability, weaknesses, strengths, and immortality. So we are going to be learning about the origin of these species."
"Rich too?" thought Camila to herself. "Maybe I am a gerontophile"
"Who can tell me how long the vampire species have existed and the oldest vampire alive or should I say undead,"
Before Camila could say anything, a hand shot up from the back of the class a few seats behind her to her right.
"About a thousand and five hundred years ago," said the owner of the hand. It was a female voice which sounded exactly like the one she had heard in her head.
"Interesting" smirked Camila in her head. She looked at the girl and studied her with dimly lit glowing eyes. The girl had dirty-blonde straight hair with bangs that covered her temple, eyes that seemed to have shards of purple and green, normal cream-coloured skin, pearl-white teeth and a wicked grin.
"The girl seemed to like leather" Camila studied, because the girl whore a black leather jacket with black inner, black leather jeans and black boots. The girl screamed emo. She wished Cal was here to study her aura. Cam's eyes continued their thorough study of the girl until they met hers. The girl remained stern eye contact and Cam refused to back down until she heard a voice in her head again.
"What ya looking at suga," the voice sounded vaguely South American or Georgian to be precise.
"You like what you see," the voice sounded British again.
"What-?" asked Cam in embarrassment as she looked away.
"Meh, I'm Lucinda by the way, Lu for short," the girl continued "I know you're wondering how I'm doing this, well I am-"
"A psychic," said Camila "Already figured that out".
The teacher stopped talking and the link connecting their minds broke.
"Ahem… Cam and Lu, please pay attention," said the teacher his eyes fixated on them with stern disdain.
"Sorry teach," said Lu.
"The vampire species were created in the Viking era long after the werewolf curse was created this was in Eastern Europe in Bulgaria." Immediately all Mr. Wordsworth was saying came to life just above the heads of the students like a three-dimensional holographic video. "As history goes," he continued "A thousand years ago a fierce powerful witch had a family whom a den of werewolves tormented. Her husband then asked her to create an elixir that would make them powerful enough to defend themselves and make them immortal. The mother wasn't prompted to take action until her lastborn was killed by the wolves. She then drew on the darkest of magics, the power of the sun, and the power of nature, with these two immortal elements she created a serum which she fed her husband and kids, the father then took his Viking sword and struck his kids and himself in the heart," the students gasped." The family woke up to a cup of blood served to them by their mother, after they drank this blood they were given all the curses and benefits of being vampires and as legion a.k.a the first or some may like to call them, the original vampires, ordinary wood can not kill them permanently but must be from a special tree as old as nature itself which must be soaked in holy water.
After he was done, the moving three-dimensional video stopped.
He ushered a test in which Cam and Lu got perfect scores.
Cam waited outside for Jayke to come to pick her up just to be greeted by a familiar, not-so-familiar sight.
"Hey Pookie," greeted Lucinda.
"It's the psychic I haven't met yet," Cam rolled her eyes sarcastically.
"What's with the attitude," beamed Lucinda as she leaned beside her.
Cam glared at Lucinda for a hot second then smiled.
"Where's your dorm," asked Cam.
Lu thought to herself for about a minute. "Oh shit," she exclaimed.
"What is it," asked Cam almost with sarcasm.
"I forgot to fill out my dorm form," said Lu now standing straight "See you later Pookie"
She then ran to the secretary's office.
"Stupid," thought Camila to herself.
"I heard that," said Lu in Cam's head.
Cam did as if she heard nothing and decided to head back to her dorm.

Jayke was running laps of two thousand meters. He raced past the vampires, werewolves and the skilled. He became the best student in minutes as the coach took a liking to his free spirit and skills. Soon after the Physical Education teacher and the coach blew hard into his white whistle which told everyone to head into the showers and back to their dorms as school was now over. Jayke headed to the locker room his whole body now beaded with sweat. He grabbed his white towel and headed to the showers. The jocks that seemed infinite all slapped him against his bag and complimented him for his physique and speed. He smiled at them thankfully and had a hot shower not minding a bit about his nakedness. He grabbed fresh clothes and hopped into them. He then headed to his dorm room where he met Calister.
Calister was deeply focused on his laptop as he scrolled cursorily through news and articles as if agitated. He paid no attention to Jayke.
Jayke set his bag down on his bed then stood and faced Calister.
"Ok rude," he said.
"Hm?" asked Calister not taking his eyes off his laptop."Oh hey Jayke"
Jayke ignored the greeting. "What are you up to?" asked Jayke as he went to his walk-in closet and pulled out a large grey hoodie and grey shorts.
"Nothing just scrolling through the latest gossip and news which happen to be the same thing over and over again. It's infuriating."
"Like what," asked Jayke.
"Most headlines read: CHAOREN HAVE BEEN CAPTURED. SCIENTISTS DISCOVER NEW WAYS TO REMOVE POWERS FROM THE CHAOREN. And stuff like that.
Jayke looks at his phone and exclaims "Oh no"
"What is it?"
Jayke went over to Calister and held his phone slightly from his face just enough for Cal to see what was on it. It read: A YOUNG CHAOREN BY THE NAME OF SIMEON MADRIGAL HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR THE ASSAULT OF A HUMAN. HE IS TO BE TRIED FOR THIS CRIME IN THREE DAYS.
"What-" asked Calister in a fury. As the words from the headlines sank in. "Not again,"
Cal's eyes glowed with rage and absolute animosity.
"Yo chill," comforted Jayke as he knew he couldn't do anything.
Camila was in her dorm scribbling something in her book at the same time wondering about Kai's whereabouts
"That's done," said Camila to herself. She rolled herself in her blanket and replayed everything that had happened that day in her head. She remembered Lucinda and hoped she had found her dorm. She got up wanting to explore more of her room when she heard her phone buzzing. She snapped her fingers and her phone immediately appeared in her hand shaking all over as if it was shivering.
She picked up the call and behind the screen of her phone were Cal and Jayke.
She waved to the boys and said with enthusiasm "Hey guys," she walked back to her bed and plopped onto the mattress.
"Hey Cam," said Jayke.
"So why'd you call we haven't seen each other for an hour and you're already missing me. I'm fine I can take care of myself," she said reassuringly.
"What?" asked Cal in confusion at the statement Camila had just blurted out. He shook his head vigorously as if something was on top of it.
"That's not why we called princess," said Cal making air quotes with his free hand when he mentioned princess.
"Far from that actually, just come over," said Jayke.
She arranged herself properly on her mattress, shifted her thick black hair to the side and smiled mischievously. She was bored so she decided to be stubborn.
"Why," smirked Camila with a glint in her eyes.
"Just come over Cam," said Cal.
"NO, I am most awfully busy," she grinned. I am enjoying the building irritation.
"For the love of God Cam," exclaimed Cal now getting irritated. "Busy with what?"
"Well I have homework-"
"That there is a lie Cam, you do your homework the minute you're back from school." Said Jayke already about to burst into laughter due to Cal's irritation.
"Well, I have to look for my roommate, find Kai, get to…" she was interrupted as she was yanked by a hand through a portal. She found herself in Cal's dormitory. She stood up from the floor and dusted her body of non-existent dust.
"Seriously?" Cam said with an overly dramatic tone. She looked around to find Calister and Jayke laughing at her. This made her angry.
"Why would you do that you deranged hooligans,"
Calister calmed down and said "Well you started it,"
"Fair," said Camila.
Jayke was still deep in laughter. Cam shot him a dirty look, but he continued his incessant laughter. "Fine, Silentium,"
Jayke's mouth immediately joined together to form only skin, his lips disappeared and it was as if he had never had an open mouth his whole life.
He mumbled beneath the skin he once called his mouth.
"So Calister," her gaze returned to a grinning Calister. "Why have you brought me here so rudely."
"Meh, no reason," teased Calister.
Cam's eyes flashed a pitch black.
"Woah chill, the reason I brought you here is to show you this," he opened his phone and showed her the news.
"Not Simeon, he's way better than you," she said jokingly.
Calister mimicked her and then said "Ok fair,"
"What of your mum?" asked Cam.
Jayke mumbled loudly.
"She's away on an expedition," said Calister.
"We're are barely minors they won't listen to us,"
"I'll just call my mum I guess," said Cal.
"Send our greetings," said Cam as she got ready to go find her dorm.
Jayke mumbled even louder.
"Camila please undo the spell," pleaded Calister.
"Meh… all right," she said" Revertus"
Jayke's mouth immediately disappeared.
He rubbed around his jaw. His eyes began to glow green.
"And that's my queue to leave thank you very much," said Cam as she hurried for the door.
"Not yet Princessa," said Jayke, as vines sprouted from the ground under Camila and held her in place.
"Not you lot being obsessed with me," smiled Cam.
"Get over yourself," said Calister.
"We can't just sit here and do nothing," said Jayke.
"Well, there's nothing we can do for now, I'll get my dad to help," said Cam" Is that better because I need to get to what I'm doing,"
"Whatever," said Jayke as he released the vines holding her.
"And Cam…" said Cal solemnly.
"Yeah?" replied Cam.
"Protect the book and remember humans want it," he said strictly.
"Yes, boss," said Camila as she rolled her eyes.
He made a portal back to her room.
"How do you even… you know what never mind," exclaimed Camila before she hesitated and entered her room.
