In a dark alley area between a couple medium sized buildings, Cole walks down the alley, looking around, taking in the artificial environment around him.
"I can sense the others' elevated Frequencies. The test has begun."
He says as he walks in the dark alley lit only by dim, almost red lights along the backside doors. He stops with a slightly surprised look when he sees a tall android step out from around the corner in front of him. It stands there looking at the ground for a moment as it twitches, its eyes glowing red. Cole closes his eyes as he takes off his glasses.
"I do not think I'll need these for the time being."
As soon as he opens his eyes, they grow wide as a long spike jets directly for his face. Dodging so sharply that it still cuts his cheek, it stabs into the wall behind him as he leans over. His expression shifts to a much more concerned and confused look.
"Does it know my abilities?.. Because if not… That attack would have killed me." He says with an intensely concerned look. The android lifts its head and looks at Cole as it twitches and sparks.
In the control room, Wither sits in his chair with a pleased look at the staff handling the androids and environment. Suddenly, one of the staff's screens begins to flash red. He looks at it surprised before his eyes widen a bit.
"Wither, android 12, its power is beginning to surge."
"A surge to keep up with the students is bound to happen. Is it within parameters?" Wither asks. The staff member looks at the screen before his eyes widen with shock and horror.
"No, it's… it's up 500%."
He says with fear lining his voice. Wither's eyes widen with shock. Just then, another screen lights up as red electricity begins to surge from it.
"Sir, android 7 is also-"
Before she can finish, the screen bursts, causing glass and electrical components to fly out. Soon, every screen in the room begins to do the same.
"Reboot them now! With that kind of power, these machines can seriously hurt the students!" Wither shouts as his team tries to work but to no avail.
"I'm trying but.. it's locking me out!" A staff member says, trying to bypass it.
"What's happening? The entire system, it's-" A different staff member says as Wither watches in horror before he feels a heavy presence weigh upon him.
"We're being attacked." Wither says under his breath before he turns his head sharply to look at the doorway to the control room. His eyes widen when he notices a person standing there who wasn't there a moment ago.
"That's right."
They say with a wicked smile. In an instant, Wither dives at the stranger with a swiftly formed ice hammer but before he can strike the stranger, the door slams shut, blocking the attack. Wither slams his fist against the door before shouting at one of the staff.
"Get this door open!"
The staff member quickly attempts only to receive an error message. The staff member looks at Wither with a concerned look as Wither realizes the situation and gets a frustrated look.
"These walls are Coreforged… I'm not getting through it anytime soon…" He says under his breath before turning back around to his team. "Quickly! Let's do everything we can to get this system back in our control! We have to!" He shouts as the team gets to work. Wither looks at one of the staff particularly. "What about the RD-x7?" He asks.
"It too is out of our control…" The staff says with a worried look. Wither stresses as he thinks.
'Damnit Teach! Why would you tell me to put that one in? It's still in experimental stages.' He thinks, thinking back to the day before the Eval Tournament.
"Why don't you go ahead and put the RD-x7 in?" Teach says. Wither looks at him shocked.
"What?? Are you trying to get your students killed??" Wither asks with worry in his voice. Teach smirks a little.
"One student in particular has shown quite a bit of promise. I want to see how far it goes." Teach says. Wither sweats a bit before sighing.
"We're designing those to train the Reps. You sure one of your new students can handle it?" Wither asks. Teach nods confidently as Wither smiles a bit with a shrug. "Alright."
"I can only imagine what it's doing now…" Wither grits his teeth in the control room, regretting his actions.
Outside of the Reigndome, another man walks along the path with a smile on his face. He has medium length black hair and a kemono on. As he comes to a stop, looking at the Reigndome from the outside, a voice echoes in his head.
"It seems someone else is here. Do we continue?" The voice asks. The man looks a little surprised for a moment but smirks before responding out loud.
"It makes no difference. The more chaos, the better." The man says. With a snicker, the voice speaks again.
"Understood. Now it's your turn." They say in his head.
"Right. Let's begin."
The man says before lifting one hand in front of him, crossing his index and middle finger while placing his thumb over his ring finger. He holds his left hand in front of his face before speaking.
"Gallows of dark and moons of blight. Bellow the light to unfold upon thine eyes. Book of Light 17: Unseen." He casts as a bright flash exerts from his hand and over the Reigndome. He lowers his hand with a smile. "The spell will only hold the agents for so long. I would be quick unless you want to be dismembered." He warns.
"Understood." The voice says.
In the Reigndome, the teachers and Representatives watch the students perform. Teach sweats a little as he watches them.
"I have a bad feeling…" He says softly before speaking more clearly. "I understand this test is supposed to push them and most of them haven't been in a real fight before but still… their Frequencies are all over the place." He says with a sweat. Nazuna looks at the sights she can see and gets a slightly worried look too.
"You're right. It's almost like they're… panicking." She says softly when suddenly her attention is brought to a chuckle heard by one of the Reps. She looks at them as the muscular one with long curly hair tied up in a bun, school jacket open in the front with his bare chest exposed, and a large smile on his face, laughs.
"They really are panicking! One test in and they're already so scattered! This doesn't feels good at all, maybe we should take care of their training from here." He says loudly. Nobody clicks his tongue in disapproval.
"They wouldn't even be worth our time." The shorter girl says harshly. She has a mask over her face and her uniform is cut around the center part of her body exposing her tummy.
"Their moves are so monotonous. How boring." Another boy says. He's tall and lean but still looks visibly strong. His eyes are narrow as he judges the students. The Reps heavily critique the class' performance causing Nobody to look away with frustration. Despite this, he still eyes the field.
'As little as I care for them, they're not wrong. Their souls are all over the place. But that's not the strangest thing. Something else is…'
Professor Nobody thinks as his sharp eyes examine the area, slowly looking to his left when suddenly his eyes widen. He stands up straight and begins to lift his hand but suddenly stops. They all do. In that moment, a flash of light lays over them all causing them to stop all together. Meanwhile, the students' fights with the androids continue on.
Back at the construction site, Killian flips backwards dodging the incoming drill of the large android. He lands with a serious look as he is covered in scratches and bruises.
"Okay, this isn't right. This thing is gunning for my head."
He says as the android looks up at him with twitching red eyes. It pulls its drill out of the ground and back for another attack.
"Okay big guy. Try this!"
As he speaks, he pulls his arm back, readying for a punch, and waits for the android to thrust its drill at him. When it does, he dodges to the side swiftly and shouts, slamming his fist straight at the android's body. Despite the direct attack, it seems to have no effect. Killian jumps back with a frustrated look.
"Damn. Not hard enough."
He says before his eyes widen as the android backhands him. He goes flying back and smashes into a concrete wall. He hits the ground with blood falling from his head a bit. He groans as he gets back up.
"This is already taking too long.. I'm certain this is happening to all the machines. I can feel the others are in danger too." He looks at the android as it marches towards him. "It doesn't matter how many times it takes, I will break this thing."
He then gets back up and stances up for another attack. He grunts as he charges it the android and throws a heavy punch. The android responds by thrusting its drill directly at Killian's attack. The drill stabs into Killian's fist for a single moment, spurting blood out and causing him to flinch so he lets his arm fall back before using his other fist to smash into the android's face.
It falls back a bit before he follows up with another punch to the body of it using his bloody fist. Killian tries another face punch but it blocks with its large arm before shoving him back and quickly grabbing him by the throat.
It lifts him up before stomping forward and smashing him through a cement pillar. He grunts before being slammed onto the ground. He rolls back and onto his feet quickly, taking no time to reel from the attack.
The android thrusts its drill at him as he sidesteps it and strikes it across the face again before ducking under the swinging drill and uppercutting it. As it falls back a bit from the impact, Killian quickly thinks.
'I'm punching straight metal. Every attack I give only hurts me more. I have to dig deep and strike harder! Finish this quickly!'
The android leans back for a moment before slamming its head into his, stunning him from the sudden attack and causing blood to spurting out. Killian stumbles back a moment but quickly opens his eyes to dodge the swinging fist and duck when it swings back.
He then jumps up from the drill being thrusted at his legs. While in the air, he flips and slams his leg against the side of the android's head. Despite landing a solid hit, he looks frustrated with the attack.
'Still too soft!'
He thinks as it leans over from the impact, its eye being cracked and dents along its body but it quickly backhands Killian in the chest with the large drill arm sending him flying through the air and into a thick cement wall. He gasps in pain as blood falls from his mouth.
As he falls, the android comes barreling at him, preparing its drill to bore a hole through his chest. He quickly focuses grabs the wall behind him, flipping himself over it as the android thrusts the drill at him, missing and crushing the wall. The collapse of the wall causes Killian to fall out of the air and slam into the pile of rubble on the ground.
He rolls onto his back and coughs out a little blood, his piling injuries starting to take a toll on his body. The android groans a mechanic sound before slowly stomping through the wall towards him. Killian lays on the ground for a moment.
"It's no good… It's still not strong enough…" He says to himself with a rough but quiet voice. The android stands above him and prepares the drill to strike Killian again. "I need something stronger…" He clenches his fists tightly as his entire body seems to start growing a bit. His muscles tighten and his veins bulge. "I need to be stronger..!"
He says, gritting his teeth as his body undergoes a rapid change, becoming something much more than a moment ago. In an instant, the android thrusts the drill down at him and at the same time, Killian shoots up and slams his open palm against the drill. But the drill doesn't stab through his hand, no, it is stopped as it scrapes and sparks against Killian's hand.
His arm, up to his elbow, is now covered in a metal with small bolt looking bits around his wrist and forearm. It is dark grey and only a little shiny as it clashes against the drill. Not noticing the sudden ability, Killian focuses on the android as he pushes it back, getting back on his feet.
If the android could be surprised, it would be but Killian internally feels more suprise than anyone right now. His body is bigger and stronger than before, not taking his eyes off the android, he still thinks about this sudden burst of strength, capable of not just stopping but pushing back this towering machine.
'What happened to me? I suddenly feel so much stronger! Strong enough I could protect all of my friends. Strong enough… to beat this android!'
He thinks as his gaze sharpens. With a shout, he crushes the tip of the drill under his grasp. The android steps back, its main weapon now in pieces, as it analyses the situation. Killian then slams his foot down, breaking the cement beneath him.
"Hey you! You can't lose focus, not even for a moment! Never lose sight of what really matters!"
Killian shouts as he throws the strongest punch he's ever thrown in his life straight for the android's head. In an instant, as if punching through a paper mache wall, Killian's metal covered fist drives straight through the android's head. He pulls his arm back as the android begins to shut down and fall to its knees.
Covered in blood and bruises, Killian looks down at his metal arm. In just a moment, it slowly liquifies and absorbs back into his skin. He opens and closes his hand a couple times, observing his arm.
"Not really sure what that was but I sure am grateful I did it." He then shakes his arm out a couple times, now looking at his more muscular arm as a whole. "And it doesn't seem this new strength is going away anytime soon." He says as he looks up with a determined look, unaffected by his injuries. "Perfect. I can use this to help the others."
