Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Bloodlines and Lineages

In the dimly lit confines of the Libra 1 classroom, Jaylen and his classmates sat in rapt attention as Miss Xirenia activated the holoscreen, signaling the beginning of today's homeroom session.

As the holographic display flickered to life, she wasted no time in getting straight to the point.

"Alright, I hope you all have enjoyed your first week of school, but now it's time to get serious and make you guys into fully-fledged powerhouses," she declared, her tone commanding attention.

"Last week on Friday, I had you all take tests to see what you know and don't know. Except for the transcendents, everyone else has pretty low scores. So, every week we will do one recap class."

With a deft gesture, Miss Xirenia changed the display on the holoscreen, revealing a diagram of a family tree.

"Today, we'll talk about Bloodline Deviation and lineages," she announced, her voice carrying a note of significance.

"Bloodlines in simple terms are the type of DNA flowing through a species' blood, While a lineage is a specific branch of this bloodline."

"Let's take the Orpheus family as an example they have the Bloodline of a human but the lineage of the shadow king granting unparalleled abilities to control shadows and darkness"

The screen shifted to illustrate two siblings utilizing similar Shadowy ability to shift into a shadow on the ground.

"With even now this concept still works the same even with the effects of Bloodline deviation, the only difference being you could end up with a family member being of a different bloodline."

Confusion rippled through the classroom, visible on the faces of most students as they struggled to comprehend the implications of Miss Xirenia's words.

The idea that one's bloodline could diverge so drastically seemed incomprehensible to many, leaving them grappling with newfound uncertainty and intrigue.

As the holographic diagram shifted once more, Miss Xirenia continued her explanation, "Things have vastly changed, though it may not feel like it. The process has become a lot more complicated,"

The figure cloaked in darkness wearing a crown appeared on the display, drawing the attention of the class. "Take Jaylen, for example,"

Miss Xirenia continued, her tone thoughtful. "As I mentioned before his family already has a great lineage descended from a mighty being who could rival a god."

"But Jaylen was born with an unknown dragon bloodline from a lineage not from Yonus but somewhere else in the universe"

The holographic display shifted again, this time showing the names of all known dragon races on Yonus, further emphasizing the diversity of Dragon Lineages that exist.

"Now, what happened to Jaylen happens to people all over Yonus every day, every year" Miss Xirenia explained, her voice carrying a note of solemnity.

"Who knows how many different species exist on this planet now? Even I am no exception to this. My family are human, but I was born a phoenix."

"Now, I know I went through it pretty fast, so does anyone have questions?" she inquired, her gaze sweeping over the class expectantly.

Blake was the first to ask a question something that had been on his mind "Miss Xirenia if Jaylen was born with a dragon bloodline how come he doesn't give off Dragon fear."

Miss Xirenia nodded in acknowledgment of Blake's question, her expression thoughtful as she considered her response. "Well, that's exactly because Jaylen's bloodline is in slumber,"

She began, her voice measured as she sought to clarify the intricacies of bloodline activation. "If it were to be awakened, he would have to spend a considerable amount of time learning to control his dragon fear."

She paused for a moment, allowing her words to sink in before continuing. "The only person in this room who would be immune to it would be Yuki, whose Lineage is of a similar grade."

With her explanation complete, Miss Xirenia glanced around the classroom, inviting further questions or comments from her students.

"Miss Xirenia you mentioned Grades to lineages what are they?" Samantha asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Miss Xirenia nodded in acknowledgment of Samantha's question, her lips curling into a faint smile. "Well, good question, Samantha,"

"Alright let's talk about Lineage grades.

With a swift gesture, the holographic display shifted once more, revealing a visual representation of the different grades of bloodlines. "Well, Lineages are sorted by grade,"

Miss Xirenia explained, her voice clear and authoritative. "Each placement of lineages within these grades is determined by the rarity of the race or creature it originates from, and the purity based on the origin race.

"For many of you, the term 'origin race' might be new. In simple terms, the origin race is the earliest, most primal version of any given race or creature—the original form, so to speak."

Miss Xirenia's voice took on a slightly softer tone, ensuring everyone could follow along. "The origin race's physical features are like a blank slate—a prototype of what each race or creature is supposed to be.

"For instance, an origin phoenix would have the shape of a phoenix but lack the defining traits, such as the flames that surround a fire phoenix."

She continued, "That's the basic rundown of the origin race. The only Lineages that are exceptions to this rule are Primordial lineages.

Miss Xirenia paused, her eyes scanning the room, giving her students a moment to absorb the information. "Now, let me give you all a quick second to Process what I just said.".

As she took a seat at the desk to the right of the podium, the room buzzed with activity. Some students were lost in thought, processing the new information.

Others scribbled furiously, trying to capture every word of Miss Xirenia's explanation. A few students, despite understanding the words, struggled to fully grasp the concepts, their faces reflecting the classic signs of bewilderment.

She stood up and continued, "Now, let's delve into the specific grades of lineages. Each grade represents a level of rarity and power, starting from the most common to the most extraordinary."

The holoscreen displayed a list, each grade accompanied by images and brief descriptions.

Miss Xirenia continued her lecture as the holoscreen displayed vivid images corresponding to each grade.

"Basic lineages, are simply a normal member of any race or species without mixed blood. For example, a pureblood vampire or a human."

These individuals are fundamentally one race only and gain no additional enhancements beyond what is typical for their race. The majority of the population has basic bloodlines. The majority of you all have basic lineages."

An image of a human and a vampire appeared on the screen, emphasizing their pure lineage.

"Now, for Uncommon Lineages, these individuals have two basic lineages. Essentially, they are true half-breeds. Not polymorphed or anything like that."

These individuals make up a significant portion of the population. They receive minor enhancements due to the unique combination of two different species' blood running through their veins, but that is only if they can find a balance. In total only 5 of you have an uncommon lineage"

The screen displayed a figure with traits from two different species, showcasing the blend of features and abilities.

"Moving on, we have Rare Lineages," Miss Xirenia continued.

"What sets them apart from their Basic and Uncommon counterparts is that they usually possess a special property that is distinctive to them in some way."

"For example, a plague vampire can spread plague by creating plague ghouls instead of regular ghouls."

An image of a vampire with a dark, ominous aura and plague ghouls materialized on the screen, illustrating the unique power of a rare lineage.

Miss Xirenia continued her explanation as the holoscreen shifted to the next set of lineage grades, each more complex and intriguing than the last.

"Unique Lineages, are distinct in that they are not based on a race or species, but Instead they are tied to strong traits or emotions."

"These Lineages remain dormant unless invoked by a powerful emotion. Examples of such traits include lust, pride, or joy. When these emotions are triggered, the Lineage awakens, granting unique abilities that are often unpredictable and intensely personal."

The screen showed a series of emotions, each linked to different abilities, emphasizing the diverse nature of Unique Lineages.

"Next, we have Legendary Lineages, also known as Successor Lineages," Miss Xirenia continued.

"These Lineages are passed down to individuals who meet the specific requirements. These Lineages are mostly found in random individuals and large old families such as the True Royals'"

"A perfect example of this is the Lineage of the Shadow King or in this case the Orpheus family as a whole, Slowly as members of the Orpheus family grow stronger they can access information on how to best utilize their lineage."

Miss Xirenia moved on, her tone authoritative and precise. "Next, we'll discuss Prime Lineages. These are relatively straightforward compared to the previous ones.

"After the Origin race, the first versions of complete lifeforms were the Prime versions."

"These are the better, more ancient versions of basic Lineages. Prime Lineages carry the essence of their race's peak potential, making them significantly more powerful than their basic counterparts."

The holoscreen showed an image of a majestic, ancient being, radiating power and wisdom. The depiction conveyed the sense of primeval strength and superiority associated with Prime lineages.

"Following that, we have Mythical Bloodlines. These belong to races with low birth rates, such as Dragons, Phoenixes, and other legendary beings. These races give birth to only a few offspring throughout their entire lives.

"Their rarity and immense power make them part of the Mythical grade. They are by far the strongest bloodlines on Yonus and, by extension, the universe. The potential and raw power they hold are unmatched, but they are incredibly rare."

The holoscreen displayed a magnificent dragon, its scales gleaming with an otherworldly light, symbolizing the awe-inspiring nature of Mythical lineages.

"Finally," Miss Xirenia said, her voice taking on a solemn tone, "we come to the Primordial lineages. These lineages are in a realm of their own. Not much is known about these lineages so you'll have to do research yourself, consider it homework"

She paused, letting the information settle in. "Remember, no matter your lineage hard work and dedication are key to unlocking your full potential. This grade is just a starting point. What you make of it is entirely up to you."

Stopping to get a drink of water, Miss Xirenia looked at her students, all busily writing down her words. A small, impeccable smile appeared on her face.

Speaking again, she wrapped up the class, "Alright, that's it for class. If you have any questions, write them down and ask me next class. You all will be going into a self-study period."

With that, Miss Xirenia once again disappeared in a fiery blaze.
