The robed old man's eyes bulged with fear as he stared at the silver needle before him, not daring to even breathe heavily.
This was a technique reserved for medical Grandmasters: the Qi outflow!
Only now did he understand why the poisonous smoke hadn't harmed Su Yi in the slightest before.
In that moment, Su Yi's Qi surged out, protecting his body; any trick in front of him was nothing but a joke.
"I admit defeat, I admit defeat! Stop... please stop!" Watching the silver needle so close at hand, the robed old man couldn't help but cry out in terror.
The audience below erupted in gasps, wondering how the young man before them remained undefeated even against the sneak attack of a revered medical expert.
Just how formidable was this man?!
It was then that the dumbfounded referee finally came to his senses, "Yin Rentang wins the second round." He hurriedly added, "Sir, he has admitted defeat, please show mercy."
Su Yi turned his head and stepped down from the stage.
To the old man's surprise, he discovered that the silver needle before him had mysteriously vanished!
The commotion swelled below, especially for Hu Pingqing. Although he was unharmed, he had been scared into a cold sweat — thankfully, Su Yi did not strike lethally, or his fate wouldn't have been as simple as sitting here.
"Su... Mr. Su... you..." Wu Hongwei was at a loss for words, flustered and elated, he stuttered.
Su Yi joked, "Mr. Wu, what's the matter, don't you recognize me?"
"Recognize... of course," Wu Hongwei said haltingly. "Brother, that was too awesome! Come clean with me, you've reached the level of a medical Grandmaster, haven't you?"
Su Yi laughed softly, "It's just a little trickery."
"Let's go, we've taken first place," said Wu Hongwei, pulling on Su Yi's shoulder. "I'll have the prize sent over in a bit." With that, he led Su Yi out of the hall.
Having won the contest, Su Yi and Wu Hongwei sat in a private room drinking tea when a waiter arrived backstage with a tray.
Upon lifting the cloth, a plant as green as jade emerged, and the air immediately filled with a fragrant scent.
With one sniff, Su Yi felt refreshed and was overjoyed; with this, Lin Xinran would finally be completely cured!
After exchanging a few words with Wu Hongwei, Su Yi excused himself to go home.
The next day, Wu Hongwei sent an invitation, asking Su Yi to a banquet.
Having greatly helped Yin Rentang, Wu Hongwei was naturally thrilled; in the invitation, he explicitly forbade Su Yi from declining. Su Yi, feeling obliged, caught a taxi to Yin Rentang.
Upon arrival, Wu Hongwei greeted him with unusual warmth, pulling Su Yi by the hand into the private room.
Inside the room were many other prominent figures from the local medical community. Wu Hongwei introduced them to Su Yi, "These are some of the most notable individuals in our city's medical circles. But brother, with your stature, don't concern yourself with them — just enjoy your food and drink."
Wu Hongwei escorted Su Yi to the main seat in the center, and shortly after, a waiter came in, whispering a few words into Wu Hongwei's ear.
"I must excuse myself for a moment, Brother Rong," Wu Hongwei stood up, apologizing to Su Yi. "There's some business I need to attend to, I'll be right back."
Su Yi nodded and leaned back in his chair to rest.
At that moment, a young man entered the room, immaculately dressed in a suit and tie with a slicked-back hairstyle. He took a seat at the end of the table.
Soon, Su Yi overheard his voice from that direction.
"Just graduated from college and already assisted my dad in resuscitating three patients! Isn't this track record enough to hold a conversation with a medical Grandmaster?"
His voice was loud, attracting the attention of everyone in the room.
The young man seemed to enjoy the attention he was getting and intensified his tone, "I'm just the youngest director of the emergency room for now, but I hope to become the president before I turn thirty. I still have a lot to learn compared to everyone here, so please feel free to offer your guidance."
His words were humble, but his pride and confidence were clear for all to see in his every move.
"Hah, Ji Liqun, just mooching off his dad's power to get by," someone beside couldn't help but mutter under his breath.
Su Yi kept his eyes closed, struggling not to laugh out loud.
The voice wasn't loud, but Ji Liqun's face flushed with embarrassment. He glanced over and realized it was one of Yin Rentang's men, so he could only sulkily turn his head away, only to see Su Yi lying back in his chair, resting with his eyes closed.
Others might laugh, but you, a greenhorn, dare to act like an elder here? A fire ignited in Ji Liqun's heart, and he strode forward.
"Hey, what the fuck are you laughing at?!" Ji Liqun's expression was unfriendly as he decided to make an example out of Su Yi!
Su Yi slowly opened his eyes and glanced at Ji Liqun beside him, "What does it have to do with you?"
Choked by the retort, Ji Liqun was very unhappy and scowled, "Who brought you here? Do you even know this is an internal medical gathering? And you're fucking sitting in the main seat. Do you know who's supposed to sit here?"
Su Yi asked with interest, "Who is it meant for? Just because I'm a doctor, I can't sit here?"
Hearing that he was a doctor, Ji Liqun instantly felt more confident and asked in a low voice, "Which unit are you from, and what position do you hold?"
"No unit, just know some medical skills," Su Yi said with a smile.
He was actually curious to see what Ji Liqun would do.
Contempt filled Ji Liqun's face, "Damn it! A fucking quack. How can just anyone get a chance to dine here? Get the hell out already!"
Su Yi remained unmoved.
"You're not fucking leaving?!" Ji Liqun's face darkened further.
He had wanted to show off a bit in front of everyone and demonstrate his clout, hoping to catch the eye of the incoming Grandmaster of Medicine and earn his favor. Who knew that this Su Yi would be so uncooperative, completely disregarding him!
"Don't force me to get physical, kid!" Ji Liqun glared fiercely at Su Yi, "If you don't leave now, I'll have my dad blacklist you across the entire industry!"
Su Yi laughed, "Is that so? Feel free to try it."
Ji Liqun's anger flared up again, thinking how he could face anyone if he didn't teach this man a lesson today.
He took out his cell phone and made a call: "Hey Dad, help me blacklist someone. Yeah, industry-wide ban. My secretary will find out his name for you."
After hanging up, Ji Liqun looked at Su Yi with disdain, "You're finished, and I don't even need to know your name."
Su Yi still appeared calm and nonchalant, lazily leaning back in his chair.
"Don't blame me for not warning you. You'd better leave now, or you won't be able to handle it when the Grandmaster of Medicine arrives," Ji Liqun warned smugly, convinced the man in front of him had given up.
Su Yi couldn't be bothered to give him a glance.
"Then I suggest you go out now, to spare yourself the embarrassment later," Su Yi's relaxed voice drifted slowly.
Ji Liqun wanted to say more, but at that moment, the door to the private room opened, and Wu Hongwei walked in. Ji Liqun could only throw Su Yi a fierce glance before dejectedly returning to a lower seat.
"Everyone's here, huh," Wu Hongwei looked around the room and walked over to Su Yi's chair, "Yin Rentang leads this time, thanks to this brother by my side."
"He is the only Great Grandmaster of Medicine I know!"
Ji Liqun's mouth dropped open in disbelief. Su Yi was the so-called Grandmaster of Medicine?!
