Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Good girl, let me feed you.

He felt troubled, why hadn't Bai Susu told him.

After all, he was the father of the children.

Only when it was time to sign the birth papers did he learn of the matter. Had there been no need for a signature, would he have never known that Bai Susu had borne him children?

Besides, pregnancy, childbirth, and raising a child are all incredibly challenging. How many wagging tongues must she have endured?

How could this girl be so foolish, so obstinate!

"Actually, by the time I found out, I was already two months pregnant. Later, when I heard that having an abortion was very dangerous and might mean I could never get pregnant again, I decided to keep the baby. I didn't know that giving birth required a signature. However, I'm grateful you came, but that's all. You can continue your relationship with Xia Lili. What happened between us was just a mistake, and I have to take responsibility for my part," said Bai Susu, lifting her gaze, her clear, cold eyes resolute and her pale face possessed an unhealthy beauty.

Although Ye Fan had saved her that time, on that night, she also lost her innocence. She had no intention of clinging to Ye Fan because of it.

Of course, she could afford to raise the children on her own. The vast Bai Family did whatever grandfather said, and as long as grandfather protected her, this matter would not be a big deal.

She would just find an excuse at that time!

Moreover, she had heard that Ye Fan was dating Xia Lili now. She wanted even less to do with Ye Fan.

Now, needing a signature to give birth to the children was unavoidable, and that's why she had sought him out.

After this matter, there would be no further entanglements between them.

"I've broken up with her. Don't worry, I will take responsibility for you and the children. From now on, you are my Ye Fan's wife and my children's mother. I will protect and guard you both for a lifetime," Ye Fan said seriously to Bai Susu, this foolish girl who had borne so much alone.

In the future, he would be doubly good to her.

Moreover, being treated like this by the campus beauty, Bai Susu, made Ye Fan feel his life was worthwhile!

From now on, Bai Susu was his wife, and along with the children, they were a family.

This very moment, he made up his mind!

And for the rest of his life, he would not change.

No matter whether Bai Susu acknowledged him or not, he was determined to acknowledge her and the children.

Upon hearing Ye Fan's declaration, which sounded like a solemn vow, Bai Susu's expression involuntarily changed.

She hadn't clung to him; was it he who was clinging to her now?

Or was this simply the responsibility a man should naturally assume?

She found herself not minding it!

"You don't have to do this. We ultimately cannot be together. It was merely an accident," said Bai Susu, her face expressionless as she looked at Ye Fan.

After all, how could the prestigious Bai Family allow their precious daughter to marry a poor boy?

No matter who it was in the family, even grandfather would not agree.

No matter what, these four children are also the Bai Family's bloodline. Besides, grandfather has always adored children, so accepting them would not be too difficult. But Ye Fan? The Bai Family would never accept him.

"Regardless, I have made up my mind. I know I'm not worthy of you right now, but one day, I will stand by your side!" Ye Fan, feeling a chill in his heart as he looked at Bai Susu, also understood his own shortcomings, which made him even more determined.

"Anyone can talk big. Society is very realistic—it's about real ability," Bai Susu said with a smile, not taking Ye Fan's words to heart.

Ye Fan chose not to argue with Bai Susu further.

More talk was useless now. What mattered were concrete actions.

"Alright, get some rest. I'll buy some supplies for the children and bring you something to eat. What would you like?" Ye Fan asked, looking at Bai Susu.

"Just a bowl of preserved egg and lean pork congee. I've prepared everything the children needs. Besides, the confinement nanny will be coming in a few days to take care of me," Bai Susu said, stretching out her hand to rummage at the foot of the bed and pulling out a large tote bag.

It seems that it was hidden by the blanket, which is why I didn't see it just now.

"Okay then, for the next few days, my mom and I will take care of you. It's settled." Ye Fan paused for a moment when he heard Bai Susu's words.

He hadn't expected Bai Susu to have thought everything through, having already arranged for a confinement nanny. She truly didn't want to have any ties with him at all.

For some reason, a trace of bitterness welled up in his heart.

Glancing at the infant sleeping soundly, he felt somewhat reassured.

Ye Fan opened the bag and saw baby clothes, dairy products, formula, diapers, and more. There were quite a few items indeed.

"Your aunt is coming?" Bai Susu's face flashed a hint of panic upon hearing this. What now?

"Don't worry, I'll explain things clearly to my mom. I won't make things difficult for you," Ye Fan sighed and said.

"Alright then," Bai Susu agreed reluctantly, nodding her head.

"By the way, there's still some money in this card you can use for now. Thanks for helping out with the medical bills earlier." As she spoke, Bai Susu pulled out a black card. She knew that Ye Fan didn't have much money. After all, his family was of modest means, and Ye Fan often did part-time jobs and summer work.

Earlier, paying the medical bills must have cost a lot.

Though she had a natural birth, which shouldn't be too expensive, birthing four babies at once was, for Ye Fan, no small expense.

"No need, keep it for yourself, I have money," Ye Fan replied, taken aback, with a gentle look in his eyes.

Bai Susu was indeed a good girl.

Being dumped by Xia Lili might have been a blessing.

If not for that, how could he have ended up with such a good wife and children?

Bai Susu was a hundred times better than Xia Lili. How could he have been so blind to fall for such a person before?

Indeed, how could he have been so blind!

He must not let down such a kind-hearted girl!

"Okay, just tell me when you need it," Bai Susu said, putting the card away again.

After all, boys need their pride, and she understood that!

"I'm going to buy you a century egg and lean pork congee. Wait for me, I'll be back soon," Ye Fan said, then turned and left.

He thought that it wasn't okay for Bai Susu to be without someone to take care of her. If he left, she truly would be alone, and that wouldn't do.

Luckily, he was smart enough to call his mom over.

Ye Fan bought the congee and also got some other things, like brown sugar and eggs, which he heard were necessary for a woman who had just given birth.

In less than half an hour, Ye Fan rushed back.

After all, he was somewhat worried about Bai Susu being alone with four infants in the hospital, so he hurried back early to take care of them.

"How about I feed you? You shouldn't move too much," Ye Fan said to Bai Susu.

"I'm fine, I can drink it myself," Bai Susu became a little uneasy.

She had always avoided contact with boys, of course, except for that night which was an accident. She had been upset and drank a bit, and then that incident happened…

Apart from Ye Fan, she had never been this physically close to any boy.

"Be good, let me feed you," Ye Fan didn't listen to Bai Susu. He scooped up a spoonful of congee and gently blew on it. His careful demeanor made Bai Susu feel awkward and even more unsure of what to do.
