Chapter 25 - A Man's Foresight

I have to say, Cindy's really bad at cooking. It seems like she just threw all the vegetables she could find into the pot.

Eugene swore it was the worst stew he had ever had, and it was made in a sweet Western soup.

The Turkey that Bliss left behind, however, must have been cooked by the old housekeeper and smelled like a refrigerator, but it was still edible.

The three of them ate without talking much.

In the end, Vico didn't find any decent protective clothing, just a few bat masks.

It's not known what Bliss uses them for, but after checking that they do have an anti-virus feature, they're all told to wear one.

There are no decent weapons in the Batcave, and Eugene doesn't like darts, so a little smoke bomb is added to make them ready.

The group returns to the car, leaving a mess on the floor, not cleaned up or covered up.

Eugene covers their eyes again and Cindy drives away.

Outside the cave, the wind seems to have eased, but the rain is heavier. The dense rain covers the car again, and the atmosphere becomes heavy again.

Eugene, too, leaned into the passenger seat, his head resting on his arms.

If Falcone and Lexiao were all right, the Laughing Bat and Barbatos, who were still hiding in the shadows, were not. Eugene knows what they're up to, but that's just them in the comics. In the real world, things can change.

For example, his arrival is a destructive impact on the original story, and the butterfly effect caused by it is difficult to estimate.

His previous comic memory can not provide much help, the most is to deal with the enemy, to understand the other side's strength level and the bottom card.

Laughing Bat and Cindy would win a head-to-head battle, but Barbatos, it's a different story.

He's known as the Dragon of the Dark Universe, the god of the Bat, and conceivably a multiverse monster, something far too powerful for one or two people to handle.

In the comics, it takes some pretty special... to defeat Barbados Metal.

Metal is the gateway between light and dark, the two multiverse universes, and Barbatos plans to use metal to travel to the main world.

There, several metals are being instilled into Batman as planned.

So he's influencing some people over there through his dreams, making them his followers and following his plan.

First, there's the amber gold of the Owl Court, which looks like clear spring water that Batman unwittingly drinks while he fights them.

Then there's the Dionysian factor, which is in the Joker's blood and also gets into Batman as he and the Joker hurt each other.

N Metal. Batman was exposed to the glow of N Metal when he went to help Hawkboy and Hawkgirl, and the metal energy entered his body.

Followed by promethium, the metal that Deathstroke's armor is made of, Batman's also used to build his final machine a high-tech automated operating table that can quickly treat injuries, which he's used several times.

All that's missing is one last metal, Batgold, in the tomb of the Bat tribe in Earth-0 Egypt.

When these metals are assembled, the Main-world Batman will become the gateway to the dark multiverse, and he will be spatially replaced with another Bruce, which will be the Laughing Bat of Earth-negative 22.

The Giggling Bat will summon Barbados to Earth-0, where he will prepare various dark rituals. Once Barbados gets there, he will start to build up his power and pull all worlds into darkness to accomplish his purpose.

N Metal is what transforms the dark energies into reality, and they can harm Barbartos and his dark creatures.

But to defeat Barbatos for good, a tenth metal in the universe is needed, Metal X, which exists in the world Furnace, which Eugene only knows is located somewhere in the Dark multiverse.

We don't know where. I don't know how to get there.

In other words, even if you save Earth-negative 11, you will only prolong your life, and once the light multiverse falls into darkness, the entire DC world will be thrown out of balance and everyone will die together.

Yes, Barbados' intention was not to do so, he just wanted to drag all the universe into darkness, become its territory, there is no light to speak of, he is the sole overlord.

But the problem was that his understanding was limited and he didn't think about the balance of the universe.

The 52 light universes and the 52 dark universes are located in an invisible plane of the world, with one side facing the sun and one side facing the shade.

They are like eggs at opposite ends of the scale, where everyone can coexist.

If you take a few of the other ones, the scale will be thrown off balance, with serious consequences like the flashpoint paradox and the infinite crisis.

If he took them all, as he had planned, the scales would tip over and everyone would be finished.

If Eugene wants to survive, he must travel to the Light multiverse and eradicate the scourge.

Because the plot has changed, his arrival has affected the fate of Earth-negative 11, and everything is different from the comics, if the Justice League still does things as they did in the comics, then the outcome is uncertain.

He doesn't want to put his fate in someone else's hands.

But how could Deathstroke, a mercenary, not a magician, cross the plane barrier?

For now, he had no idea how to do it, so he had to take it one step at a time.

 ...

Cindy didn't know what he was thinking, but it seemed to her that Eugene had grown more silent.

At this time, the water on the road has been very deep, and the car is like a boat on the road, pushing the water waves on both sides of the ripples.

Except for the five of them, the body of a shadow dancer was left wrapped in black garbage bags in a corner, perhaps as a bargaining chip for a deal with the Shadow Dancer Alliance.

Everyone was quiet and silent, with a pre-war air, except that no one had quite the same expression.

Barbara was in a daze, thinking about some other thing, her face alternately flushed and blue, and occasionally peeking from Eugene's back.

Vicki is excited. She is fixing her makeup and looking in the mirror to adjust her gas mask to see how it will look. She thinks she is going to witness history tonight.

And Peter, well, he doesn't have any ideas, because he seems to be in shock.

The weather made them the only cars on the road, their headlights the only light on the dark motorway.

The storm must have knocked out the power supply in Gotham City. It's dark in most of the city now, except for a few downtown areas.

But that bat light at the police station, it seems like it's always on.
