The second mist is when things got very interesting. It happened right after the first mist, and turned some of the stoned people into Hybrids (refer back to the first explanation if you don't remember).
The mist happened suddenly. Everything was just covered in a thick greenish fog, even the inside of the hospital. I remember thinking that this mist was exactly like the mist I saw earlier in my room. The mist only lasted for a few seconds, but it felt like hours. The mist was so thick you couldn't see anything. And it was hard to breathe as the air was so heavy.
When the mist cleared, everything seemed normal. I don't know what I though about it back then, but I think I went into shock again. To cope with this, I went back to dragging the statues into the sage room, but then it started to happen.
The staute I had just picked up started to Crack. I dropped it as I was surprised. I thought, "What the fuck is happening? Did i accidently break a statue?" But then the others started to Crack as well. I fell backwards wondering if that mist had anything to do with this. Then, the stone layer dropped off of them.
I stared, as the people who had been turned to stone returned to normal. There was a doctor, and few nurses, and like 2 patients.
"What. The. Fuck. Just happened?" The doctor said.
"I have no idea," one of the nurses responded, rubbing her head. "But-"
Suddenly the other nurse screamed.
I stared in horror has the nurse fell to the floor, retching. Then her skin started to bubble.
"Aarrgg!" Her teeth started to grow longer and sharper. She started growing fur. And her nails turned into long claws. Soon, we were left with a humongous wolves, who was twice the size of a human.
I scrambled back, trying to grab hold of a weapon to kill that thing. The others were backing up as well, until they started to turn.
The hall was filled with the screams as they started to mutate.
Being the sane person that I was, I ran away, and locked myself in one of the patient rooms.
Wow. This is really making me look like a damsel in distress. In most books, the knight in shining armor would show up and save me, we fall in love, get married blah blah blah.
But I ain't no damsel in distress.
After locking myself in the room, a took a minute to catch my breathe and scan my surroundings. Even though I have little to no experience when it comes to fighting, but I had to do something.
That's when I saw it.
A shotgun.
