As they walked away, they heard Alex calling out for them to stop.Sonia's heart ached;
she had never ignored her best friend before, and this was the first time. She stopped abruptly.
Annika noticed and asked with concern, "Sonia, "why did you stop?" Are you okay?"
Sonia turned to her, gently holding Annika's hands."lt's okay, Annika. You don't have to worry ", she said.
Annika ,puzzled, replied, "What do you mean
? Why shouldn't l worry"
Sonia sighed deeply, "You don't know how much pain l'm feeling right now".
Annika placed her hand on Sonia's forehead to check her temperature and felt it burning hot. Thinking thapt it was her hand, she moved her hand down to Sonia's cheek , but it was still incredibly hot. Annika exclaimed, "You have such a high temperature!".
Sonia removed Annika's hand and hold them both and said, "Don't worry Annika". She looked towards the direction where Alex was coming from. It's just that l can't stay angry at my friend or ignore him, not even for an hour, you know?"
Annika, still confused, asked, "What do you mean by that?"
