The Royal Guard quickly regained his composure and bowed deeply to William. "Your Highness," he said respectfully, "it is an honor to see you return safely. The King had us all prepared to inform him the moment you emerged. If you'll follow me, I will lead you to him."
William nodded, giving the guard a calm look. "Thank you. Let's not keep my father waiting."
As they walked through the winding corridors of the castle, the guard couldn't help but glance at William every so often. "Your Highness, if I may say," he began hesitantly, "I've had the privilege of seeing all of His Majesty's children complete the cycle, but… seeing you achieve it as well—it's truly remarkable. There are few in history who have done what you have."
