With a surge of magic, she slammed her swords into the ground, sending spikes of ice shooting upward in every direction. Several of Nia's illusions shattered into nothingness, but three of them remained. Lila gritted her teeth—Nia had masked her presence well.
In response, Nia's illusions charged from all sides, closing in fast. Lila braced herself, but just as they reached her, the illusions vanished, and the real Nia appeared behind her, thrusting a glowing dagger toward Lila's back.
Clang!
At the last second, Lila's icy armor formed, blocking the blade with a sharp clang. She spun around, parrying Nia's dagger and countering with a rapid flurry of sword strikes. Nia dodged and weaved, her agility keeping her just out of reach, but Lila's relentless frost magic was starting to wear her down.
